in bangalore airtel's upload speed is better than hathway bb??hathway's upload speed sucks!!!!!!!but ya download is gud....in total airtel igprs is excellent in bangalore and 15-20kBps speed is very normal here

Edge isnt available on airtel here In lucknow, but may be it is available in metros...the airtel site doesnt say anything about this whereas you can get list of cities and highways on the hutch site.edge has been properly implemented only by hutch(when it lauched hutch tv-remember the 6630 add).i got speeds from 11-22kBps on hutch.

Edge is available for almost all airtel towers in Trivandrum. Speeds vary from 10kBps to 15kBps for downloads on N73.

Hello,

You mean to say that in such a case I'll be able to get Edge speed signals at the rate of GPRS connection :P

I already have Edge 10 on my Nokia N70 but Ive never experienced such Edge speeds of 247 kbps as mentioned by you .

By the way is Edge already present in India ?

What is the difference between Edge and 3G(yet to be launched) in terms of speeds and pricing ?N70 has 3G capability also.

Actually I wish to get rid of wired broadband connection and go for Edge/3G/CDMA broadband whichever is available first in Punjab.

Hello,
The speed you get depends on different factors.
1. EGDE availability
2. your mobile's EDGE support (multi slot class support- currently max 5 slots)
3. coding scheme being used (if it uses the EDGE top MSK-9 -> 4 downports * 59.2kbps = appr 236kbits/s downlink speed)

i am using Airtel Edge Services , here in Indore (M.P.) ,, and getting cool speeds , no need to have a costly broadband connection , Downloading speed is around 26-30 KB/s which is quite satisfactry for me at just Rs. 10 per day ,, and the biggest advantage in subscribing airtel Mobile Office service is that you can just activate/deactivate it in seconds through a sms ,, so you didnot need to pay for the whole month ,, so when you to use internet activate it and use it whole day and suppose next day if you don't need internet deactivate it and save your money...

Well, its there in Delhi and i never checked the download speed, i think its somewhere between 10KB/ps to 12KB/ps here...

I am getting 3KB/s to 5 KB/s during day time and 5 KB/s to 8 KB/s during night time after 1 AM (Indian time). I am using AIRTEL PREPAID (Tamilnadu circle)

I am getting just 5-8KB/s with 23-30KB/s bursts in between. No disconnections though.
