Then, whatever remains are idea and BSNL. I hope BSNL has a better coverage over the country. You got to use atleast one GSM service provider !! Isn't it ? Actually I hated BSNL most a few months ago, but their tariff and network improvement in Kolkata has made me to look back. Their service is sure to improve and are also outsourcing their helpdesk to provide better support. I hope you understand my point. B)

TATA Indicom is the best prepaid sevice available.

Cool analysis mate Most of the GSM Prepaid service are all shit and outright loot. Compared to all this I find TATA Indicom TruePaid the best among all Prepaid services.

Looking for a new connection, it struck me as weird that when you recharge with Airtel prepaid, you actually get much less value than what you pay (in the name of "Processing Fee"... whatever that is).  So here is some @n@1ysis.... pretty much self explanatory... The last two columns show what you actually pay per minute on a regular call and on local SMS (i.e. in real world rupees NOT talk-time rupees).

Here's a chart for those that need to visualize it:

F@!@ CDMA, Can u change ur operator on a CDMA handset ?Answer is NO. [only cheap ones offer CDMA SIM]Kick everything aside, get BSNL CellOne/Excel connection...

I find MTNL'd Trump Prepaid service too cost effective in delhiFor Rs 500.....u get Rs 400 talktime....2 month validityCall rate1.50 to regular phones0.90 to MTNL GSM phonesSMS@ 0.50 flat

See Signal strength isnt too good as compared to Hutch in delhi....but It works....the best part is even if u have 2 or 1 bars out of 5 u can carry on with conversation....with airtel...u wud get call drops even in strong network zones....simply bcoz airtel allots the least bandwidth per subscriber per call due to large no. of customers.MTNL doesnt have this problem and I wud say the network coverage is pretty decent though not superb and voice quality is excellent. Plus they have improvised upon their network in recent months. In my home i used to get 2 bars earlier ...now 4 most of time....So network is pretty decentAlso it has free roaming with BSNL....although i had problems registering wit BSNl (even manually) even when BSNL network was avilable in someparts of Punjab, and Rajasthan......
