Update: I got a call from an Airtel rep today. She told me how the data usage have been so high.
I asked her to tell me my data usage before 13th (when we had our old Huawei router). She said she only has access to 10-15 days worth of usage and on 10th 11th 12th September, we were consuming between 17 to 30 GB per day.
Then it said 0 data usage on 13th and 14th and from 15th onwards she said we were using between 400 to 600 GB data per day.
How can this be possible? Same people, same date usage patterns but the logging is so different? The only logical answer I can think of is the new router is reporting inflated figures and that's what I told her. She said she'll check that out and contact me again but before that, I want to figure out what could be the reason for such high data usage reports.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to monitor data usage on the Router itself? The model is AOT5221ZY and it seems to be unlocked as I can change most of the settings.
I have a NAS connected to my router (just like the last 2 years) and that's how I remotely connect to my router.
If anyone has any insights, or ideas that can help me figure out what can I do, please speak up. Because if the new router is showing usages that are THIS high, then it looks like I'll be running into the FUP issue a lot now
