Airtel static ip address, showing PPoE

I have requested airtel to provide me a static ip.
The engineer came and he did some calls and reset the router.
After that he told the static ip is configured.

But when I am opening the router home page. The connection type is showing PPOE.
The engineer told, in airtel you will get only PPOE ip as static.

How is it possible !! That's my question.
Is they trying to fool me ??

Check on Google "whatsmyip" and match it with the IP allocated to you If you don't know the IP provided by Airtel, simply check the IP and then restart the router. If it changes, it's not a static IP.

PPPoE can never be static. The technician doesn't know what is static IP or how to configure static IP in the router.

@sourav9630 Are you sure that you are on PPPoE? Does the IP change upon rebooting your router? Which model of router are you using?
(I'd very much like a screenshot to verify, if you don't mind...)

If you are 100% sure that you are on PPPoE, then keep pestering 121 saying that you requested Static IP but you still have router showing as PPPoE and your IP keeps changing upon reboots. Eventually, you'll end up with someone who actually understands your problem and fixes it...
