My dad uses Airtel postpaid and his monthly bill shoots to 550 to 700 occasionally. I tried mypack option it doesn't work well. So thought of switching him to Vodafone for better plans. He doesn't use 2g or 3g, max if he uses it will be 300 Mb per month, all he need is a good call (local and std pack) Is it wise to shift operator for this alone?

Airtel has an unlimited plan for 550 something. Switch to that.
My dad is on a vodafone 199 plan that has 600 free minutes local and std. Better is to guesstimate number of minutes you need in a month if unlimited is not suitable.
Idea has a similar 199 plan with 600 minutes. Airtel plans were expensive for same minutes. But this is for Gurgaon. People have been offered much better plans.

Airtel infinity plans starts from Rs.549+tax (Unlimited Loc+Std+100SMS/day+3GB 4G) extra 3GB for 4G handset
