Well it's been a week and except for 2-3 people in Guragon and 1 person in Chennai no one else seems to have been "blessed" with this.Nothing to do but wait for Diwali I guess.
OK, exciting Vodafone/Airtel news this morning on CNBC. Mostly mobile phone stuff, but I hope it includes broadband, and AirTel can beat the living daylights out of the rest...About US $ 1.5 billion strategic investment (10%) from Vodafone into Bharti, then SingTel is already in there. Sunil Mittal said he wants AirTel to be the most admired brand (not just mobile/telecom, just the brand) in India by 2010.Also Reliance InfoCom is coming to market soon I think? CNBC thinks once they do then they too will attract foreign strategic/tech investments. Also Tata Tele is in talks with South Korea Telecom... and we all know how good (deeelicious) the broadband is over there!!!!! heheheWatch CNBC for details....
Vodafone CEO is Arun Sarin (UK based of course)...CNBC compared this to Cisco announcement that they will invest US $ 1 billion also... but over three years! This Vodafone deal is done this morning!BSNL/MTNL/DoT etc are ignoring TRAI to drop broadband tariffs, unbundle the local loop etc... so I think these private players will just wait for wireless last-mile tech like WiMAX (2006/7?) to arrive then use this with their fiber to simply kill off the govt. ISPsI just hope DoT, BSNL, MTNL, etc realise the threat, stop their stupidity and listen to TRAI, they can use their crores and crores of cash, to come up with their own counter strike! Or maybe they dont have any money and are totally screwed now. hahaha nyaaah bye bye govt ISPs, u cant stop the private players now
Reliance is going down the drain. It wont come out with anything good until 2008/2009. Trust me. I know. Anil and Mukesh are both stupid. They have ruined a perfectly good company. I had big hopes for Reliance but I always knew Airtel would do it. And now I think Airtel *will* do it. With their launch long due in Mumbai, I think they will kick the butts of all the cable ISPs who give sucky 64Kbps speeds! Go Bharti Go!!!
hi all, this happens to be my first post. i've been comin here but never thought of adding anything. but now yes.reality check: i called up airtel, (yes 512 got me all seduced and my hormones kicked in) and no guesses further,"No saar, i didnt get any information about such package. we have the 512 kbps for the corporate now saarr. will that be all or anything else?" thank you and have a happy deepavali." *clung*seems like nothing much they got to tell us, but hoping that god almighty burst open the cloud (he did open the real cloud, but i was hoping for the internet cloud )happy surfing and deepavali to yall
airtel and vodafone were not all together until a couple of days back. they (vodafone) picked up 10% stake from bharti televentures. and that still doesnt mean they are together. only means bharti gets their pockets full as it was an all cash deal. maybe they'll pour that to make their networks better and our connection much much better.wishful thinking? hell yes !!!
