Airtel's 512kbps Unlimited Plan

Hey Crazysah...check out the other posts in this forum about this plan...thr waz a long long discussion on it...name of the post is sumthing like "1990 plan"....but doesnt make sense 2 shell out another 1000 bucks for 512 kbps speed...wen u can get 512 kbps at night for 999...maybe 1499 wud have been a gud price...

I got my plan changed to 512 unlimited. I am getting 50 - 55 kbps download and upload speed simultaneously. I had 256 ul plan earlier and i was not getting double speed during night and CC said that i will not as this scheme is only for old customer and that is the reason i changed my plan to 512 ul. I am happy with this plan as my concern is speed and not money.

The appropriate price of this plan would have been Rs. 1200 - 1300. When you double speeds, you shouldn't double the price. Otherwise they should be giving the 128kbps UL plan for Rs. 499.

that is the funny part. i am sure if they price this package at 1200-1300 bucks a lot of customers would take the foolish step to upgrade and airtel would gain around 400 bucks from each of that customer. surfing speeds are going to remain same. the ARPU would increase.and those who wants to download would download...

Why would it be a foolish step ?

if all you do is download, then you have effectively doubled your load for only 1.5 times the price.

ARPU : average return per unit or customer.

New plans are in Bangalore. Just talked to their C care about this.512 Plan for 2000 Rs is a joke.. They gota be kidding.. They should think more on Mbps stuff now.. kbps is past now..
