Airtel's 512kbps Unlimited Plan

its almost a month now on this new 1999 unlimted plan , well clear to say guys i roughly getting 380- 400kbps max , so better they can say the plan like a 384 kbps.. taughts..

I upgraded to plan 1999 last week and i am getting speed between 380 - 440. But i am happy because i am getting the same upload speed. I can download and upload simultaneously with max 55 kbps.

just shifted to the 1999 plan today. man i'm getting around 60k constant on http files. haven't checked torrents yet, might be a little less. that i think is brilliant.and pls stop about all the airtel sucks crap. double the speed, double the money. nobody's forcing you to take it. they may not match up to bsnl vfm packages, but i think everyone will agree on the fact that airtel's service and customer care is unmatched.

well guys same i say for all who complains about this plan syagin waste of money and its crap etc... i say its bit costly for a unlimted on a 512 but speeds r constant 24/7 i get around 55k constant on downloads , and yeah as arvind maiya said customer care of airtel is unmatched

double the speed, double the money. nobody's forcing you to take it. they may not match up to bsnl vfm packages, but i think everyone will agree on the fact that airtel's service and customer care is unmatched.
Well, that is the sucky part.... with Internet plans it's never double the speed, double the money. That's cheap of Airtel.... and as I mathematically show below, inconsistent of them.

2 x Speed = 2 x Money
2/4 x Speed = 2/4 x Money
0.5 x Speed = 0.5 X Money
Therefore, 256 Kbps UL for Rs. 999 => 128 kbps UL should be for Rs. 999/2 = Rs. 499.50.

So until and unless they reduce the price for the 128 kbps UL plan to Rs. 499 (i.e. from the current Rs. 699) they are simply being cheap.

They really ought to have priced the 512 kbps UL plan between Rs. 1,200 and Rs. 1,300, and I am sure had they done that a huge chunk of people on the 256 kbps plan would have migrated to 512 kbps.

Their service (i.e. reliability) and customer care is the only reason I am still with them.

the problem with airtel is the bias they show with their plans. double speed was not made available in south india.this new plan is apparently not available in north india.

yeah i agree on that Sushubh , they r not offering double speed here on south india and they not offerring this news plans on north india .. just a weired thing
