I'm currently using the Nokia G-2425G-A. I'm planning to shift my connection to my other place. They're offering that I can opt for the WiFi-6 ONT.
Is it better than Nokia G-2425G-A? Shall I switch to the WiFi-6 one or stick to Nokia?
i had Nokia and ZTE routers with airtel.
they both work great. I'd suggest no change.
but if you are getting better settings with WIFI6 then go for it like MU-MIMO, beamforming features .
If you have no intention of using your own networking settings and are fine with Airtel's by default performance, by all means stick to the status quo. Just understand that unless you have a super speedy plan, wifi6 is not really going to show its benefits. After-all, no point in getting thick pipes installed if your water flow is trickling at best. Your more pressing concern should be the quality of Airtel's infrastructure around your other place. No router is going to be helpful if the connection cables are pretty old or poorly maintained.
@LonerPrime connection cables are brand new and are maintained properly. No downtimes at all except when there's some govt electrical works going on. I'm just confused if getting the ZyXEL AOT-5221ZY installed would be a good decision as Nokoa G-2425G-A is so far the most stable router airtel ever offered. Range is dope, no drops in connection from router's end whatsoever and band steering works well unlike every other crappy airtel e-waste routers.
Agreed with the gentleman above. Never got offered Nokia so can't say for sure, but if you are happy with it, stick with it. As for thoughts on that ZyXEL model, there is a thread discussing the device in detail here: New ONT AOT-5221ZY
