Strange my exp was better. Once I got an sms that cc is blocked for security reasons. Their email gave details that someone abroad had tried to use. They blocked it as I had disabled that option. After a few hrs they enabled it again. But the bank itself is quite chalu (corrupt) one has to keep an eagle eye on them but aren't all banks the same. Remember the adage "A banker is one who holds an umbrella over ur Head when its sunny and takes it away when it starts raining ".

Here the charges were made in Romania, while the card holders are here in Delhi, and HDFC didn't budge. Took them more than a month to close the case.

A good practice is to keep international POS usage disabled or very low from NetBanking.

Hdfc won't let me buy from international sites online if I use a VPN.

Thankfully I haven't had any frauds on my card. I use 2 CCs, both received during college time during fests: Amex Membership Rewards card of 25K limit & ICICI Coral of 50K limit.

Amex has stopped the limit upgrades during Covid, asked me to call back in Sept. I want to use that as my primary card in maximum places, but the limit gets exhausted every month easily. Amex's offers are pretty good though.

They asked me for IT returns coz self employed...

I am also self employed. Though my Amazon pay balance was avg 20k+ for 3 months before they processed my long struck application.

@Samuel citibank can never be your 4th or 5th card. Always 1st or 2nd. They have been too strict lately.

Yes imo. Hdfc is best if you want to play rewards n miles game. Its the best rewarding card for me.

Is it true that we can get apay card without income proof(they will issue it on the basis of cibil score)?.

I haven't had a job in nearly 18 years. These big banks hate having people like us as customers unless we have a business entity.

You can say you have proprietorship firm in your own name

When I applied for Amazon card - first I said "self employed" and they immediately denied my application without even doing KYC. i.e. did not even go to next step.

Then I tried from another Amazon account and picked salaried. This time it went ahead. Asked for bank details, salary slip. And then to video KYC stage.

Video KYC stage wasted so much time for me. It kept asking me to wait till representative is available. And then location verification kept failing on iPhone (and I had to restart - again wait for representative - try GPS again).

And then eventually I tried Android phone and it worked.

And then it took them 10 days to deny my application.

I delayed buying washing machine and some furniture just waiting for the card.

So much waste of time for me.

Amazon lost a customer. As now I will buy them offline.
