@msdhoni, welcome back (again!)
I don't have much idea about it, so I didn't post here anything. But according to me comparing HD with PVR is stupidity. Even you know PVR fucntions similiar to VCR, then how can you even compare HD with PVR. Both are totally different features.
About pricing yes, at moment prices of both hardware are almost same, so you may argue that at price of PVR you are getting HD STB.
But you didn't mention that for complete experience of HD, you may need a descent TV of atleast Rs 30-40K. Then to enjoy 5.1 Dolby sound you will need surround sound system of atleast Rs 10K. (So is SUN DIRECT providing all this necessary equipments at subsidised price). And as per news, each HD channel would be for Rs 100, so now add up all the cost to see how much we may need to spend to experience HD (Yet, I appreciate SUN DIRECT for launching HD, and its good they have taken initiative on HD).
About PVR of Tata Sky+, it about convenience of TV viewing. And for the quality you get, the price for TATASKY+ is justified. Only what is wrong is monthly rental of Rs 50 (which is needed to keep PVR service active). SKY+ (of UK) also initially charged monthly rental but later dropped it (Sky+ - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). I hope TS+ will also drop monthly rental in future if it is strongly opposed by subscribers.
Thats my views, you can claim it is wrong!

wow,even after nearly 1 year, the same saga goes on. hello guys, i am back.hope all my friends are doing well and I see some new faces too.

TS+ Usage fees : Rs.50 per month (I wonder why we need to pay for the hardware which we bought on our own!)Let me make a correction here : TS hasnt been charging these 50 Rs. since its launch and still they are giving a lifetime waiver :yahoo:... it is posted that the TS + is just as good as a VCR....TS + also gives 720p output...I am using it since its launch and i am pretty satisfied with it on my 29" flat tv..a VCR gives 480i output... Talking abt SUN HD ...its only benificial if you have a full HD Television i.e 1080p..... Moreover how can u compare a DVR with an HD receiver :wall:....

^^^:hysterical: he wants to post something to insult that member dhoni. but not able to find any points against him so posting some thing silly :hysterical:
