Bad Experience with Excitel in Bangalore

I know for many people Excitel is the best in their area and it works great, but this is my experience of using Excitel broadband in Koramangala in Bangalore.

I had excitel connection for a good year from late 2023 to late 2024. It used to work great in the beginning but used to have frequent internet outages. Often during rain. When I used to complain using the app, it used to be resolved within 24hrs. All was good during the early days.

Now coming to mid 2024, just after summer when Bangalore was battered with a lot of rain, the outages got worse. Even after complaining, they started taking 48 - 72 hrs for resolution without any update on what is happening. During this time, I got so frustrated that I had to complain to their Nodal officer twice. Once I even had to take the complaint to the Ingram portal of government for resolution.

Finally, one fine day, after the connection was down for more than 4 days, I had enough. I complained again on the Ingram portal stating that I want my entire connection to be rewired again, and it was the 7th time my connection was down in past 1 month. There was silence for the next 48hrs and then suddenly I got a call from customer care that my area will not be serviced anymore. They will be refunding me on pro-rata basis. I was glad that now I could switch from this shitty connection.

I switched to ACT after that and its been more than a year now. Not one drop in connection! Shows the kind of quality excitel had at my location.
 
I have seen this behavior of just making the area non serviceable laughable. Like c'mon its such a bad wayout that ok we can't provide good experience to that area then just cut off all customers of that area, but they seldom don't know that this is only hitting their customer base. Glad ACT is faring better.
