I downloaded DUmeter to check it out. Using ver4.01. Motorazor rightly mentions about its advanced features, and the fact that its a 30-day trial only! (Unethical means aside )Review: The advtgs i find over Netmeter:1. The mini-mode is exactly the setting i wanted, and got after much jiggling in netmeter. Its unobstrusive and shows the vital stats. 2. The processes listening/using open connections can be seen in real-time. 3. It can save and show download history upto hour-wise. The minimum in Netmeter is only day-wise. Disadvtgs:1. It has two distinct processes running. 'DUmetersvc.exe' besides the main program. Netmeter has just 'netmeter.exe' running. 2. The memory usage is quite high compared to Netmeter. Two processes combined were using 4mb+ with Virtual memory use of 10mb+Early days yet as just started using it, but seems the DL being recorded is more or less same for both progs. Can any DUmeter user tell me that is there an option that the 'mini-mode' window shows me the current monthly DL amount, rather than the DL speeds, as i have no use for the default parameters being shown - the DL/UL speeds.Otherwise, this will be the single deciding disadvtg for me.

@motorazorThanks for the thumbsup. I should have specified, the actual memory usage may vary from sytem to system. E.g. i have seen Firefox mem use reported as ranging from 20MB-200 MB by diff people!! (not using extensions). And on a high RAM system, 2-4MB should anyways not be much of a problem.It wud be very useful for me if u could answer the second question. Can i get to see the DL/UL amounts in the mini-mode rather than the speeds?An update:I recently downloaded AnVir, a good replacement for taskmanager. Whats troubling me is that it is recognizing DUmeter as a safe program, but Netmeter as a high-risk program, with recommendation "definitely not needed". Would do more research on net about it. Anyone knows anything abt it?

I recently downloaded AnVir,......................
1.This program also shows daily usage. ( click the black icon).
2.I have it at Start up and get messages limiting WGA /FF etc. saying they consume lot of memory !
3. I use it to check the temp of my laptop ( very old) as it freezes around 52 degrees !
4. Using Datafox in FF.
5. There is a program to limit FF memory usage. will give link later.
Download Firefox Ultimate Optimizer ( For testing purposes/retain if OK )

6.ANVIR is a very good program, and will be a useful addition at Startup.

yes this happens when people use too many tabs and windows, so the RAM usage goes higher and also some firefox versions have memory leak problems which constitutes to high memory usage.

It wud be very useful for me if u could answer the second question. Can i get to see the DL/UL amounts in the mini-mode rather than the speeds?

Because i would like to keep NM.@motorazorThats what i also tried - the options settings. I thought u would be knowing some tweak. Well, that becomes the deciding factor for me then. Only NM shows the DL/UL current amounts directly on the screen, without having to click/ hover over icon. Wud use DU till the 30 day trial period at least.

Thats not fair ess! You are doing what the mediawallas do - snipping the quote and using it!! That changes the meaning totally.

DU METER above 4.0 versions is best now i feel after using it..
