Beetel 450 TC1 and BSNL Broadband wifi problem.

I have a wifi problem with 450 TC1. can anyone tell me what could be the problem and how to solve it.

Uncheck box ADSL2+ in DSL page
( Re Check Statistics Adsl page

Use wifi Channel 6 or 11.

Position router at a higher height.

Keep router flat on table and rotate the unit for
Max signals at target area. Pattern figure of 8. antenna flat.

If kept vertical pattern figure O

or get a dish type antenna to attach to wifi router. Focus in desired direction.

Mention OS used. If Windows 7 try application "Connectify" in laptop.

thanks for the reply. however, i'm unable to access my modem now since the userid and password seem to have changed overnight. the userid was admin and password password. i did not reset it. is there anyway to access the modem now, without resetting it as resetting will involve configuring the modem again.btw, i'm using win xp.

If model supplied by Airtel PW is Password.
Iff supplied by BSNL PW admin
you can also try user PW password
or
support PW password.
 
essbebe, no luck.anyway thanks.will try to reset modem after finishing some important work as i don't want to be caught without internet in case of any problem in resetting.
 
After being in pain for almost a month I got it working finally. The problem was with the firmware. I installed the new firmware from 122.166.105.80 - /Firmwares/IPTV-FIRMWARE/FIRMWARE/BEETEL-450TC1/ .

TM4-0Q-020_20100628(With-Without CAS).rar

After installing the new firmware it allowed me to change the authentication type
and voila it connected.

Thanks a mandster and essbebe, Even i faced same issue with Beetel 450TC1, i had latest firmware TM4-0Q-025 which was not letting me to edit authentication type in wireless settings(which was disabled and customised for airtel broadband). i degraded the firmware to TM4-0Q-020 where i am able to edit it.

But even though i am not able to connect to internet. I am using windows 7 when i troubleshooted it windows says "DNS server not responding" i changed DNS server to openDNS server IP, dns server automatically , and with the DNS server IP's provided by BSNL but its no use :( what could be wrong. I am not able to ping any dns server 100% loss :( I tried uninstalling network adapter driver too. i am not using any VPN. Please help me i spent weekend in this without going anywhere :(

In this model say You had selected PVC2 for bsnl vpi vci 0 35.
better to select all other PVC's and deactivate them..
Confirm you connect in PPPoE mode ( userid/PW entered in modem )
Confirm getting Internet in LAN mode.

2. Nice information about degrading FW to avoid default airtel ssid and key
( which are greyed ) Only one more SSID 2 key can be used/set. .

3. Carefully check boxes in WAN page. all boxes required to be activated are checked.
