Avira Antivirus is the best for single PC. It is free for home/personal use and uses less space in disc.

if they want to, they can easily do it.

send some data identifying the machine during the registration/update process. and compare it with the existing data in their servers.

at least microsoft does it with Windows 7.

when i upgraded my motherboard and processor, i had to call their US based call center to get some updated numbers to use my product key because the system found out the hardware change and refused to accept the older keys.

the indian call center folks literally accused me of pirating claiming that the same copy of Windows 7 has been used on multiple machines. told them several times that i just updated my own system's specifications. they simply would not accept it.

i use avast for almost 6 years now, its free, updates itself regularly, and i never had any issues with virus at all. i do use zonealarm firewall, another free option, and run spybot almost once a month to check for spywares. i do surf around on various sites which i should not be, but never had any issue with virus or spyware. well, another thing is, if your antivirus is not detecting virus, how do u know if u r infected ;)

^That's a great way of surfing net especially if you venture a lot of unknown sites. Also a safe way of running potentially unsafe software (read keygen) :wink:And Sandboxie has added the support of x64 systems too in the latest version (great for Windows 7 x64 users)
