looking at the leaked photo posted above i see a change from 16:9 type ratio to 4:3 ration. i guess larger tablets are not practical with 16:9 ratio displays.i know the pain. having a 30" widescreen display is painful. there is already a shortage of high end large displays in the country... finding one with 4:3 aspect ratio is practically impossible.

Official OS 2.0.1.668 Now Available for the BlackBerry PlayBook! - BerryReview

Research In Motion has officially released OS 2.0.1.668 for the BlackBerry PlayBook. Now apparently, we are hearing that version 2.1.0.560 will be the ‘stock’ OS for the BlackBerry PlayBook 4G. Anyway, this update is also a maintenance update from what we are hearing.

There is no change log from RIM yet, so let us know in the comments if you notice anything different. Hopefully we will see another update to v2.1.x soon!

I am already on 2.1 Beta - So, not sure whether I will get this update & not even sure what it contains :|

And finally,

Playbook 4G launch details

Research In Motion has finally let the cat out of the bag on the release date of the 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook. The 4G LTE PlayBook will be available in Canada starting August 9th! Yes, you read the title correctly. The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet you know and love is now even better, with a new model available in Canada on select carriers beginning August 9th that has built-in support for ultra-fast 4G LTE™ networks.

Somehow I feel, August 9th might also be the date that Playbook OS 2.1 gets pushed out.

While a ~320 MB update was pushed to those on 2.0 .... People like me on 2.1 beta got a 3 MB update.. No visible difference for now.

SHAPE Releases Free IM+ Client for PlayBook! | BBin

SHAPE, the developers of major multi-account messenger client IM+ has released a free version app for BlackBerry PlayBook! This free version is an Android ported & works perfectly well on BlackBerry platform. You can also grab the polished, exclusive IM+ Pro from App World for few bucks! Nonetheless, this is much better deal in the end

Ah, Atlast

Well, if wonders whats such a big deal, with a Multi-protocol IM client free version releasing is that when Playbook was launched the IM+ was the ONLY Multi-protocol client that existed, but it was paid & cost $8 (Rs.292 in India) , couple of ones for Gmail & facebook existed & then a few more guys came up with their free versions for gmail & facebook, but a single app was not there where you could access all. Then after Playbook OS 2, A lot of people unofficially ported Android versions of Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, ebuddy, imo.im. Some even ported IM+ free Android version. Eventually ebuddy released a paid ($1) version on App World officially. Hence, the situation with Multi-protocol IM client for playbook was still not cool. Now IM+ have come out with their Android port which works fine. The only concern is that could this have to do with the fact that not many people are paying $8 for their pro native version. But to be fair to a lot of people, asking them to pay $8 for a IM client, which has a free version in another platform, was a bit too steep & hence a lot of people avoid it. For me? Well its just one less reason for people to give a reason to avoid the playbook

Still unconfirmed -

RIM Confirms Incoming PlayBook OS 2.1 Update - BerryReview

Bit of a rant here.. Its been 4 months since the beta came out & the OS2 was also in beta for 4 months (Thats another reason why this rumour looks closer to truth). It does seem a bit odd that Blackberry has betas out for 4 months. I do hope they come out ASAP. Another thing is that BB10 was expected to come to the playbook early next year, and if they follow this practise, I hope they let the BB10 beta out to Playbook as soon as BB10 mobiles are launched in Jan'2013.
