BlackBerry Z10 likely to be launched in the second half of February in India - Tech - IBNLive

Research in Motion Ltd must chart a tough course in its two key emerging markets of India and Indonesia: quickly launch cheaper handsets to woo lower-end subscribers while restoring its tattered brand among the countries' status-conscious.
The company, which is rebranding itself BlackBerry after its best-known smartphone, has won millions of followers in these two Asian countries, mostly by selling cheaper handsets and offering service packages as low as $2 a month. So it's unlikely that the Z10 model introduced last week, which operators in India expect to sell for around $750, will appeal to the users it must reach if it is to build market share.

I guess the mid-segment needs to come out pretty fast for them to even have a ghost of a chance. And even then, if they are at 25k.. I wonder....

i know a couple of blackberry fans who are waiting for this phone. would love it when the pricing is revealed and this phone would cost as much as a much powerful android alternative.of course they can always surprise but the possibility is very low considering they do not really have the advantage that samsung has with volumes and own manufacturing of most of the components that goes into the product.

Like I said.. 35k itself would be testing the loyalty of most fans. 40k would be pushing to the brim. 45k would probably only see the Hardcore Fanboys and or style/status symbol flaunters would be getting it.. kind of like for iPhone.

personally, i think these are just sensational posts made by desperate blogs owned by media giants. it would have been better if they actually get an interview with a person who actually paid the mentioned price for the mentioned phone.

Seems like Z10 is off to some reasonably good sales in the UK...I think a few might be from sub-dealers hoping to ship to foreign locations at a higher prices.
