Broadband Surprises with Airtel (Free upgrades for everyone)

Me too. this is what i am reading on various news websites.

The company is offering free upgrade to the higher available speeds at no additional cost to its existing users while new users will pay only for the data consumption and it will offer the highest speed available in the area, Airtel said.

so basically you are not on their regular plan. you get unlimited bandwidth on your connection. yet you are unsatisfied because airtel is not offering you these new benefits available to regular customers on limited bandwidth plans?

i got only 1GB on 75GB plan and even that is not added yet. so much for being a "privileged" customer. i am not complaining as i am already getting a much better deal than the new rapid plans.
 
By unfair, I only meant the pricing as a whole along with speed in accordance to these new plans - especially since there's no reference to the kind of plan you have (which I'd absolutely love to have!) on the Airtel site for Chennai and none of the plans listed come even close.

Yes, I am in Delhi. You should also go for Rapid 2399 or 2499 package whichever is applicable in Chennai.

Existing customers are getting 40-45% increase in their bandwidth. Not sure what the problem is.

Earlier people used to crib that Airtel is expensive. I am sure it's still expensive but in the past 1-2 months several things have changed. Like I used to pay 3200 for 175gb at 8mbps. Now i pay 2700 for 250gb at 16mbps (limited to 8 due to my location). If anyone would have told me 2 months ago about such a deal, I would have grabbed onto it.

So as u said, I am not able to understand where the problem is.

Also I had a chat with their CC and asked how you are allocating the surprises. They told me it depends upon what package you have been using and since how long you have been using it. Like someone mentioned in this thread that he got 75gb extra which I feel is simply amazing. I myself got 50gb and I was pretty elated. I am sure their algos are doing the right thing while allocating the surprise bandwidth's.
