bsnl 3g Internet speed

Hey my name is Abhishek, and i am from Gujarat. I had bought bsnl NIC card (Huawei E220). But the speed i am getting is just 144kbps, so i need a help on that. Can i use the device (Huawei E220) with any other operator or can i switch to the BSNL 3G plan and will i have to get the device unlock for that.

Check the mode in which you are connected...May be you are in No signal area and getting 2G speeds!

But No, i am in a plan that gives speed upto 144kbps only, its the unlimted plan which was started by bsnl in just Rs.272. So i was just thinking to deactivate this plan and may be switch to some other operator may b vodafone. So i need to know, do i need to unlock the device (Huawei E220) to switch to other network or just by deactivating the plan it will be done.

I would suggest you to switch to BSNL 3G UL offer of 4200/6 months!

it will be locked to bsnl only u need to get it unlocked.Between try to change the mode in yur data card settings

If your traffic is getting routed via Chennai, then speed might be affected, try to disconnect and connect frequently !

Yea i did that many times, tried different apn's, reinstalled drivers and software, but speed wont be restored to what i got before.

If traffic is getting routed, what can i do for it ?

I am in Calcutta Telephones area Baranagar 3G download speed 0.08 to 0.19 Mbps. I am using Teracom LW272 Data Card with 3G SIM. All officers of Calcutta Telephones are "Motherchod".:wall:

yes u can use it ... the teracom modem is not locked by bsnl....so u can put any simcard to use that usb modem

but i need to confirm speed here in thrissur

my phone is Nokia n70, gives only 44-60KBps maxwith my new 3g sim{new only 3 days}

Connect it using PC Suite in to your PC and check the results...If you are getting less speed then thats it...Check it in the early morning also!
