BSNL 3G is now offering unlimited data for Rs. 1099 (Rs. 156 for 2GB/Rs. 549 for 10GB)

The basic problem is that Bsnl is managed by old farts who are not in touch with market conditions and technology. In India, every tom dick and harry digs up the road, not to mention hundreds of overhead wires from all ISPs and cable operators creating unstable connections.

They cannot compete on high speed so why bother. 90% of the market is still on below 4 Mbps connections....... what more do they want.

The same minimum 1Mbps plan would have been a big hit in 3G if someone thought of it.

Is this unlimited 3G on prepaid or postpaid and is it PAN-India? I use BSNL (using Jio preview for the last 3 months) but the problem with me is that the BSNL lines are always terrible even though their plans are now decent. And the phone line/internet almost never gets fixed properly (phone noise and DSL restarting occurs within a day or two of the lineman fixing the line). So, 3G might be a good option if the connectivity is good and if the plan is unlimited. Rs.1100 is a very good deal for sure. The 10 GB Rs.549 deal is also very good.

The only major issue I get worried about mobile internet is the signal strength. I have tested out all major ISPs and none of them have good connectivity inside the house. Jio 4G was surprisingly the only ISP which has got very good connection inside the house. The signals remain even in the inner rooms while other ISPs work only near the windows. Some like rcom do not even work near Windows and I need to go outside.

So, people who are complaining about BSNL 3G giving low speeds. Even I am getting only HSDPA ( 7.2 mbps) indoor which gives practical speed of 3 Mbps only but I changed the setup and using a wingle Huawei 8231 ( MIFI device ) and placed it in terrace (3 rd floor ) then extented it's wifi range via binatone wifi repeater and cheers , I could get HSPA+ and speed is varying from 6-15 mbps download and yes, atleast in my area they are providing 1 day extra validity in all plans and after extra day of validity plan continues till 3.51am for next day. I do get a lot of message's like 50 percent complete then 90 percent complete.

Out off topic, but for 3G enthusiasts, Reliance comm. also provinding 10GB 3G for 349Rs. and 10GB 2G for 56Rs. ( Unofficially ) . You could check the same by pressing USSD *129# then go to "Paisa Vasool Offer " or "10GB 3G dhamaka offer " .

IMO Rcom is bigger piece of shit than BSNL. My idea 2G connection gives better speed after FUP than Rcom 2G. I am actually confused whether I should buy JioFi or a MiFI dongle to use bsnl 3G. I have a idea net-setter but it can't be unlocked I tried each and every possible method.
What would you guys suggest?

I would suggest BSNL 3G,I've used MTNL on BSNL and I used to get 3-4Mbps in my area and it's really good for me personally..
I mean you would get unlimited 4G for 3 months ,but after that you might have to scale down on your usage..

In that case, You could manual login to Rcom 3G network and could enjoy 18 KBps speed (Capped at 20KBps ) incase you are in 2g pack and In my case 56 ruppee 2g pack after 3 days start to give 3G speed don't know why. But you could try it. Speed isn't very good , Around 1-3 Mbps in day and 7 Mbps in night . Alternatively you could login to Tata Docomo 2G(ICRA -Roaming ) which is highly reliable in my area and gives speed of 25KBps in 2G network .

Go for BSNL 3G after checking the speed's, You should wait for JIO commercial launch as I could see huge number of people outside JIO DX store's. They will surely choke the network till they complete their free U/L period then why you would purchase a thing for 2899 when others are getting it for free . I don't even unlocking will be of any use as they completely removed search for network section only APN details could be entered.
