You can either buy Huawei 1750 or umg 181. both are good.

can you post the relevant specifications and price. People are saying that Micromax is good

Try to get a Huawei E122 , its reasonably priced ~ 2.2k , and supports 7.2 mbps download and 5.76 mbps uploads .

You can also try Micromax MMX 300G 3G USB modem, it is priced at Rs3230 something.I think it would be more durable than Huawei E122, not sure though.

Thanks everyone for the inputs. That clears all the doubts. I just purchased an unlocked Huawei 1752 data modem for about 2350 Rs. Not sure how different it is from E1750 or E122 In Gujarat they have an offer going on right now. Recharge for Rs 119 and get 2gb day and 10gb night usage...valid for 2 months. I went to their office to get this recharge done...but thy told me that since I have a Non-Data Card sim card package, I cannot do that recharge. I'll just try recharging the same today and see if it works.

there are problems reported with micromax. Huawei 1750 and umg 181 are the best models which cost ~rs 3000 on ebay (7.2 mbps). if you want 3.6 hsdpa you can buy huawei 1550.(~2000 Rs) e 122 is as expensive as 1750 but the signal reception is not that good. zte is also a gud brand. be cautious not to buy from a seller called 89wholesale on ebay. he is a cheater (i was the victim).

Sorry for posting OT query, but can somebody from Pune suggest me name of shops where Huawei/Macromax data cards will be available? I am interested in E122/E176.

I have a high end 3G enabled cell phone which supports both HSDPA 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 2 Mbps.So if i wanna get into BSNL 3G 700 per month UL plan, can i purchase the 3G sim and use the unlimited data plan through my cell, or will i have to purchase the Data Card only to use the 3G sim from BSNL in 700 per month plan

^you can use BSNL3G in your phone. No data card purchase is required.

You can use your mobile directly also. However, when you use phone as modem, it does affect battery life...not recommended if you plan to use Internet on your PC for long durations
