Just for information, though you will not able to see NDIS and RAS option, NDIS option is enabled by default. forgot the configuration XML file name in which that option is underNDIS

Yes is there since beginning (Tools -> Options -> General.) Doesn't work in both modes. Read my first post.

1. Sorry to hear, no RAS/NDIS selection in Tools>Options>General. I feel it should be there and if not it is installation problem. Even if if is by default NDIS, they might not be active or talking (so to say). This selection will be available when Modem is inserted in USB and device is identified by Mobile Partner.

BY THE WAY FIRMWARE VERSION WILL BE IN TOOLS>DIAGNOSTICS>MODEM AND IT WOULD BE 11.126.______. THE UPGRADES FOR DASHBOARD & FIRMWARE ARE AT FOLLOWING LINKS

DASHBOARD :
http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/downLoadDetail.do?method=downloadFile&flag=1&fileName=32158&attachmentName=E1550-Client+Software+WINMACB300D00SP01C03+(UTPS11.300.13.00.03_MAC11.301.06.00.03)+(For+WINXP%262K%26Vista+%26MAC)+(05019427).zip

FIRMWARE :

http://www.cellc.co.za/downloads/get_dl/E1752_Update_11.126.13.00.00.B418.exe (FROM CELLc, SOUTH AFRICA)

If you are upto changing and experimenting you can install these two upgrades (as of August 2010) and try. FOr upgrading firmware, you need to have flash code, which can be obtained by putting your IEMI No. on this link Huawei MDM Unlocking codes Request [ONLY HERE] [Archive] - Page 324 - GSM-Forum OR Online Huawei Modem Unlock Calculator OR get this software & use it for unlocking too. Sola_setup.rar - The full set-upp for Sola GSM Calc - Unlock, Relock, Reset Counter of Huawei Modem - Dedicated Web Hosting Service. OR AT http://www.gsmupload.com/unlock-any-usb-modem-idea-netsetter-bsnl-3g-vodafone/ If you are not able to enter flash code for being able to flash (format) modem for putting in upgraded version, you may need Huawei Modem code writer get it from net.

MAY BE THE UPGRADE SOLVES THE PROBLEM. OTHERWISE PL go through below and in next post we can try to find out in each case where problem is.

2. If RAS/NDIS options are there and still no connection, it may be still NDIS issue. More info on NDIS/RNDIS at Overview of Remote NDIS (RNDIS) (Windows Driver Kit) (academic)

3. But certainly, it is not BSNL or Service provider issue. Issue is in dialer software and Computer. And for each not working connection it may be a different issue. I will try to give 2-3 alternatives/other solutions in addition to set right NDIS option etc. Such things happen with several computers and modems not only e1750 0r e1752. Check the link and how by sheer happenstance it was correctly installed and was working Huawei Technical Forum: E169 installing as cd drive? HELP .... Similarly see how funny this has become every where and with all modems. Problem Installing Huawei Mobile Connect 3G Modem. & this Huawei Technical Forum: E169 installing as cd drive? HELP ... One thing is sure. problem is between computer and installation.

4. Apart from options RAS/NDIS available, ANOTHER PROOF OF MODEM & MOBILE PARTNER BEING CORRECTLY INSTALLED IS BY ITSELF, IN WINDOWS DIAL UP CONNECTIONS, A new automatically made connection named "3G MOBILE" WILL BE THERE AND ITS PROPERTIES WILL SHOW IT IS USING OUR MODEM. Have you all such connection automatically formed? Pl let me know.

5.This is why I am inclined to believe it is the issue I described OR some such internal one of installation or conflict between modem/dialer/computer. Otherwise why so many others have the same running with all sim of different telcos?

6. A further test is, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT USE MOBILE PARTNER AND USE DIAL UP CONNECTION OF WINDOWS 7 ETC, ERRORS 619 & 628 ONLY WILL BE ENCOUNTERED. These says that computer is not free for the port/connection meaning there is no dialogue between modem and computer and hence no connection. See links Windows Errors for errors and their FIX.

Just checked my firmware on E1752 and it seems to be the updated one and so is the dahsboard

I just got my UMG 1831...when I insert the UMG 1831 and use the same Mobile Partner Software, I do see the option of RAS/NDIS..but that option vanishes as soon as I put my E1752.

1. 3. But certainly, it is not BSNL or Service provider issue. Issue is in dialer software and Computer.

I'm not sure if this is true. The E1752 modem is working perfectly fine in BSNL south region..it's giving problem only in BSNL west. So had it been an installation problem, I would expect the modem not to work in BSNL South region also.

That is it. Having RAS/NDIS is crucial and important for a successful connection. In fact this needs NDIS miniport in windows trouble shooting. Tell me when you installed Mobile Partner,

(i) did it also make a Dial up Connection names 3G Mobile? (check in dial up & VPN connections).

(ii) Did drivers install twice for hardware by windows hardware/dricer installer? While installing, Modem drivers are installed TWICE by windows driver installer. Once when you insert USB Modem. 6-7 different drivers including for storage device will be installed. Then AFTER you have installed Mobile Partner, AGAIN a few drivers will be installed (6-7) by windows driver/hardware installer including 3g mobile drivers.

if any of the two above or RAS/NDIS is not there it is sure an internal problem.

It is not BSNL problem because I am in west BSNL and now my Huawei e1752 is working OK & that too with original software without any upgrade/flashing or firmware change. AND it has worked on several computers ALL with fresh install. In West BSNL several such modems are working. I do get speed of 1 to 2.4 MbPS during day time also Many times, Not always.

I would suggest you try the following before doing some real deep tweaking (which is least desirable. Original software is the best) :

1. Try installing in safe mode with networking. PL ensure your internet connection is on so that installer can reach windows update server. In safe mode or normal mode, let the drivers be installed by windows hardware installer. RESTART. Install mobile partner, AGAIN windows will find new drivers and install them. After complete install of mobile partner and drivers (2nd time), remove modem and reinsert. Restart. Is it working now?

2. As it happened in some case, (links sent) reinstalling windows OS (IF POSSIBLE) may help. Keep USB Modem inserted when OS is reinstalled.

3. Try the reversible trick given at this link. If it is not working it can be reversed also AND ANYWAY, it is just installing new version of Mobile Partner only. This will need inserting a micro sd card in Huawei modem. Seems worth a try and steps are simple.

4. Check in USB in device manager last item universal serial bus controllers Does it show following?

Intel(R)82801DB/DBM USB Universal HOst Controller - 24C2
same as above - 24C4,
same as above - 24C7
same as above - 24CD
SC USB Virtual Driver 20
USB COmposit Device
USB Mass storage device (twice)
USB Root Hub etc.

The first 5 are also related to 3G modem and if not there again there is some installation issue

Let me know outcome.

E1752 working in BSNL South and not in West India may be looked into. May be BSNL South is giving instructions for correct settings in e1752 or something like that. But not having RAS/NDIS and a dial up cnnection 3G Mobile made while installing modem etc are cases of incorrect insttallation. RAS/NDIS options are available and can be seen only when modem is connected with any network.

In a few days I will try to finally give a solution for this problem. But for now I have to hurry. By the Way I am a totally non technical person - a Chartered Accountant in fact. So finding out these things and understanding them without prior basic knowledge is very time consuming but my modem is working flowlessly. Only voice feature is to be activated.

You can use E1750 if you want a 7.2Mbps modem or you can also use 21Mbps UMG1831. Both are working perfect in All India. You can email me or call for further queries
