thanks a lot buddy, i turned down the idea of buying a data card cz i was previously using Airtel GPRS through my cell and speeds were pretty decent.
You would almost always carry your phone rather than your data card.

After recharging with 4200/-, i thought of buying a data card, but did not due to below reasons.
1> Most data cards available on the market support max 7.2 or 3.6 Mbps speeds. Huawei E series are amongst the best. I have heard about issues with Micromax and Terracom linktop.

2> On the contrary, 3G mobiles (I use a Nokia E52) supports HSDPA@10.2 Mbps. I might not get these speeds now, but no harm having one ready :-)

Nokia 5230 > HSDPA@ 3.6Mbps

I recharged on the 04-Nov, today its 11-Nov. Have downloaded 19GB in 6 days, all through my E52. Mobile was tethered to the laptop with data cable via ovi suite. Never once did the phone heat up to an extent that could be noticed.

Interesting observation- I also checked with a data card, but the speeds i got while using the mobile was approx 10% higher.

For folks who hate cables, try out Joiku Spot light/premium- this is turns your phone to a full fledged Wireless router..!!

7.2Mbps card for Rs. 3800 is too costly..

what's the price that you bought n company?? He's saying it's 1yr warranty and can be replaced if it's faulty.

It's T-Mobile unlocked having Huawei UMG181 modem. I bought it 3 months back for Rs. 2900. I think prices have reduced now. If you are not familiar with ebay, before buying the product, go through the sellers feedback left by other buyers.. there are good sellers and frauds in ebay.. sellers with "Power Seller" status are usually very professional.. that's my experience.. it's up to you to decide..

dude listen to me. if you have signal strength more than 50% u can use 3.6hsdpa (like huawei1550) but if it low you shud go for models like umg 181, Huawei 1750, 1752, etc(shud not cost more than 2800rs). i bought e1550 on ebay for 2000 rs. from a good seller. beware not to buy from a seller called 89wholesale (i have filed a claim on him for I received an empty box in courier). so ask for opinions before spending money.
