So, I got frustrated yesterday and complained on the BSNL website. A dude came today. Saw the modem stats and noticed that my line speed is set at 8mbps.
He told me that if I need to get my connection stable, I would have to get it to original values. NOOOOOOOOO. I told him that I cannot go back to 3mbps speeds on my connection so I would live with what I have.
He said fine. I would not get it changed. But god knows what he would do now.
And he also said that my complaint was forwarded by a senior BSNL official. Man. Online complaints are indeed taken seriously. :
As the line rate increases, the SNR and attenuation rates also get affected, by how much it depends upon the distance from the exchange. So, the person was suggesting you the right thing.
In that case only the SDE of your exchange can help.I believe the cable pair needs to be changed at the DSLAM which i suspect to have got carbon in it and it's a matter of 1 hour or so to fix it.But for that you gotta convince the SDE as those guys are pretty much reluctant to do any changes to their system.
Righto. Man. As long as my line speeds are at 8mbps, I am sure these guys are going to use the same lame excuse for any problem I face on my connection. :
