Considering downgrading my BSNL to a cheaper plan and applying for the Reliance 4mbps plan. :

the 2mbps unlimited one i guess. i imagine it would be more like 1mbps :
never mind. i think 2mbps unlimited one was more like 2800 rupees. have not checked.

2799 is 2mbit UL. 1445 is 1mbit UL. You're likely to get full post fup speeds, as the line rate would have to be set at 4906 and 2048 respectively to account for the pre fup speeds. But then, if the throttling is severe, you never know.

Getting a Reliance connection would be an adventure on its own. I have no idea how to apply for a connection. I filled a form on their website. No one has called yet.

IIRC, last time you'd managed to rcom installed, right?

I do have a Reliance World in the local market. Going there is going to be helpful? I thought they only gave mobile connections? I have to go to the market for some work anyways. Would check.
As for last time. I submitted the cheque. The guy promised next day installation. He never came. I canceled the cheque and told that guy to fuck off when he came 2 days later.

No idea, haven't tried getting an rcom connection. Store might have the local sales chap's number.

Right. I took the same route. Got the number from the same store. My existing router would work? Right?

Not sure. RCOM needs MER. Check if your modem has that option. Most don't. Router, yes.
