Man what is the freaking deal with contention ration. 1:4 for consumer plans. Are they going to use this excuse to provide 1mbps on 4mbps line?
 
lol, I don't think so. bsnl, in comparison, has a max contention ratio of 1:25. With the 80% stuff in place, they don't go by contention ratios anymore.
To be certain about MER, take a look at the modem's wan settings.
 
Right. Internet = WAN
Select each ISP option one at a time and check the encapsulation drop-down for MAC Encapsulated Routing.
 
Select radio button for dynamic, check the options under the Encapsulation drop-down box below. See if there is an option called MER or MAC Encapsulated Routing in the drop-down.
Repeat the above process for each of the other radio button options ie static, pppoe and bridge.
 
Does not look like it. I can always buy a second modem compatible with Reliance. I mean I do plan to keep both the connections for a few weeks/months.
