BSNL Broadband: Connecting 2 PCs to a router

Hi,I am Kavya.I very New for this forum. Actully I have problem.I have 2 computers one laptops and other is deskstop using internet with type2 modem.Now I m using my net from wi-fi.I just want run internet on both pc's. So I created I lan connetion and can share files. But internet is not working on deskstop pc.And 192.168.1.1 is also not opening on my pc. Plz tell what can I do for run net on my both pc's.Regardskavya

so your net is working on your laptop through wifi but the net does not work on your desktop which is connected to the router through ethernet?

Yes my net is working fine on laptop. i put cross cable desktop to laptop. but still not working. I also put desktop cable in to the router but net was not working while laptop using net.

Hi,I can not access internet on my 2 pc's (laptop and desktop) Together. If Laptop is connected then desktop can't connect.And Not able to access 192.168.1.1 as well after making lan connection. i can share files on both pc's.Plx help me.Kavya

May be due to conflicting IP. Try selecting-Obtain an IP address automatically in LAN setting in both the PCs. If doesnt work Contact ur ISP.

connect in pppoe modei think u r using net in bridge.. ASK any expert to change it to pppoe mode.. i hope this will solve prob
