BSNL Broadband: how to port forward zte zxdsl 831 ii v5.5

do you see a VIRTUAL SERVER option or a NAT - DMZ option? Screenshots would help

Even if the Firmware version is slightly updated, PF menu pages will remain same.
See this and compare the screen shots.

A bit from the Bittorrent FAQ :-

The BitTorrent client will normally use ports 6881 to 6889, so when you are adding the ports to your firewall, make sure you cover the whole block.
If you don’t know the default password, you should check out ZTE ZXDSL 831 default password.
After you login, click on Services tab.
Under NAT Options listbox, choose NAT Rule Entry.
Click Add to add a new rule.

IF NAME: ALL

Global Address From: 0.0.0.0
Global Address To: 0.0.0.0

After done all that don’t forget to click on Admin tab and then Commit & Reboot. Make sure to click Commit then Reboot.

my router pge doesnt gives any virtual server, dmz, nat

Did you try to open the Advanced menu ? compare the programming page.
What is the big difference in your unit with the screen shot shown in PF web site ?
did you enter the modem address In IE as suggested ?
How you acquired this model? seems latest ? Or did BSNL provide this ?

bsnl provided this model like 25 days back.........
according to portforward website it should show nat option in advanced menu but it doesn't.........
and if i try http://192.168.1.1/home1.html it shows a blank page

@essbebe,it seems that newer modem provided by bsnl are seriously stripped down in terms of configuration options(one ex. would be Nokia siemens c2110 in which you can not configure port forwarding no matter what you do unless you are a master of using telnet commands & know how to modify iptables/pool.in fact normal/average users can't even configure it for bridge mode which i managed to do).also these new modems advanced options can not be accessed by normal methods as far as i know.telnet is the only sure shot way but for modems like nokia siemens c2110 it is a nightmare to configure using telnet but many other modems i heard are relatively easy to configure using telnet(ex. new siemens sl2_141 wifi modem).

Ok . Just browsed the quick start manual. Open in IE 192.168.1.1/main.html admin admin.
It is possible but unlikely. will search for the original firmware.
What is the version now ? Board ID and Firmware version. screen shot of Device status.

Do you use Wanminiport dialer to connect ? If not, exchange the modem, explaining your problem to BSNL. will update later.

brutalassassin1....

one thing you should try,

1. configure your modem in always on connection. (tell here if u are unable)
2. connect modem using your user : password
3. when your always on connection is established, click again the configuration link (where you already configured your modem to always on connection)
4. there if u see disconnect option click there. u should be redirected to another page where u will get two option

a) Disconect b) advance status

click advance status then click on your configuration page again, u can see some different settings and configuration like advance settings for port forwarding.....

try this and then reply your status.....

please post some screenshot of your modem's different configuration pages.

try these links http://192.168.1.1/webconfig/portforwarding/portforwarding0.html

http://192.168.1.1/advan_menu.html

see my configuration page, and see my configuration page address it has advn_menu1.html address

you should have some something like this, try changing address like advn_menu1.html to advn_menu.html or advn_menu0.html
