There's something called SRA Enable - Should that be checked or remain at default unchecked?
The SRA feature is only useful for ADSL2+ connections. SRA stands for Seamless Rate Adaption, and allows your router to seamlessly adjust your SYNC speed without needing to re-sync you to the exchange. For example, if you have a SYNC rate of 18,500 and your connection starts to become problematic, or extra noise is on the line at a particular time, the modem can automatically SYNC at a slightly lower speed to compensate for these problems, thus keeping you connected at all times, rather than the usual method of being disconnected - then reconnected at a lower speed, causing you with a 1 minute or so disconnection each time it happens
@/members/hydraheaded/ Mention modem model.

I am including a pic, showing the SNR values:

Thanks.

members/hydraheaded/Ok. Just select ONLY mod GDMT and ADSL2 T 413 and report only Attn D/l. Attn can also reduce.Your sync speed is very high, and that is why you are having frequent disconnections. feedback please.

Don't understant: what exactly should I do?

Ok. Just select ONLY mod
GDMT and
ADSL2
T 413 and report only Attn D/l.
Attn can also reduce.
Your sync speed is very high, and that is why you are having frequent disconnections. feedback please.

In the modem's Advanced > ADSL Settings > these are the given options for ADSL modulation: G. Dmt; ADSL2; ADSL2+; T1.413; G.Lite; and Multimode; out of this, at present, ADSL2+ is selected, are you asking me to test with each differend mode and see which works? Below it is the EC/FDM mode, in which EC is selected; and below it is BitSwap which is disabled.

The modem model is Huawei SmartAX MT 880 (as shown in the pic I have given).

As superprash2003 had asked, I have upgraded the firmware; at present it is:
Current Firmware Version: V200R001C01B021SP03
Firmware Date: Jul 6 2005

Thanks.

i am still suffering without net. been almost 2 weeks now... i guess i have to get their new linesman to come check the lines... the existing old guy passed away i was told...!

Hi, I too faced a similar problem with a dsl-502T. The adsl light would keep blinking. Got a new line from bsnl but had the same problem where it the link used to keep coming and going...I then realised it was a problem with the adsl router. You should probably give this a check. Try another adsl router to isolate the iissue.

/members/hydraheaded/ I have posted data elsewhere for diff MODs selected. Think in Airtel forum.
are you asking me to test with each differend mode and see which works? Below it is the EC/FDM mode, in which EC is selected; and below it is BitSwap which is disabled.
1.YES. select each mod one by one. checlk SNR/attn line speed. GDMT most likely will be suitable. You will/should find difference in all above data.
2. Select EC/FDM also.
EC
echo canceled
FDM
frequency division multiplexing
3Enable Bitswap ( no harm even if selected. no questions please, I don't know !)
4. SRA( if option available) usually left disabled. ( researching it !)

PS: Firmware is now for MT882. same as mine. will confirm later.

I tried MultiMode as well, but it shows the Operation Mode as T1.413, so maybe it changes the method every time?

Haven't tested EC/FDM or BitSwap yet; can't find SRA.

So, what should I do now?

PS: Firmware is now for MT882. same as mine. will confirm later.
for my ref:http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/9391/huaweiit0.th.jpg

Couldn't understand this part; and the image is way too small, on zooming, everything is blurred.

One more thing: I used to think that my modem was MT 882; and I think I searched for its firmware upgrade, and installed that on my (MT 880), though I am not so sure about this; could this be the problem?

Thanks.

if you are experiencing this problem after you did the firmware upgrade then it very well could be that.Upgrading to latest firmware isnt required unless you found something really cool that firmware offered!!!
