I do it for safety......u cant trust BSNL ppl :):)............and yes..i do stay awake till 2.am. and start my day....:thumbsup:and sleep around 5 a.m after scheduling.........:P

In my Mac,I use Azureus for torrents and my ports got forwarded automatically whereas in XP(installed using bootcamp),Azureus ports were still not open.I noted down the open port from mac and used the same port in XP and it got forwarded too.I am happy about it as i didnt have to go through the painful process of port forwarding.I tried the same port with utorrent and it also worked.

Guys I use the same modem and i have ports forwarded an my Azureus.Azureus automatically did it for me.Now in utorrent whatever port I enter,it is forwarded.weird?

The procedure removes the routing capabilities of your device...so all the ports would appear to be forwarded...It is just a modem now

hey guys i am really confused about this concept :port forwarding and am not able to detect whether i have this feature enabled or not.

i am using XPsp2 & bitcomet 0.96 and on dataone home 500 plan(2.5GB limit)

i went through a lot of articles on the net on increasing p2p speeds.so i configured my settings accordingly.i changed the upload and download rates and maximum half rate connections etc.but when i came on to this concept of port forwarding,i just could'nt make anything out of it.Can some1 plz xplain me what it is in simple terms.so from whatevr little i understood, when i tried to connect to my router using my my default gateway(59.93.128.xx-which is also my ip address.) to check whether port forwarding is enabled or not,no page was opened in the web browser.
i also checked with 192.168.1.1 & 192.168.0.1
i found these sumwhere on the net.
Some1 plz temme how to check it and how.i am using a UTStarCom UT300R2U modem/router.

as an interesting fact from the net,i checked up my peers list in the downloading torrent list.i was downloading 2 files.the whole list of download no1 showed all local connections where as the list of download no2 had a mixture of both local and remote.
so do i have port forwarding enabled or not???

and does resetting the router help in any way??

and ya with all local connections.....i get upto 225 kBps speeds for torrents.
so do i have port forwarding option enabled ?????
and if it is not will enabling it increase my speeds significantly???

simply use bridge mode if possible, no need to forward any port. disable windows xp firewall, insteed use sygate personal firewall or Zone Alarm to control application internet activities.

hey thnx essbebe.....actually i use a dialer to connect.and its not in bridge mode.just normal.all the settings have just been tweaked in bitcomet only.

and i was also not able to open 192.168.1.1/main.html
so couldnt check.but portforwarding.com has dis modem mentioned and also has instructions how to PF it......so most probably it supports i guess

thnx onlytest.....well i dont trust windows firewall.so i have already disabled it.i am currently using COMODO firewall pro.....and have add bitcomet to its list of apps to allow remote connections.

and my connections is just a simple dialer...not bridged.so will bridging help in nay ways???

both mean same thing. For the present no further adjustment needed.
Try 192.168.1.1/home.html admin utstar . Make acopy of all existing entriesor save as screenshots
