Hi..i have a new dataone connection with a BSNL provided modem.i'm a download junkie and recently discovered port forwarding by using NAT-DMZ host. The first time i used it the user ID and password some how got reset..the BSNL guy came and fixd it. But since the last three days the problem has started again..the user ID and password in the router gets changed automatically whenever i switch off the modem. The ID comes as 'multiplay' and some unknown password...inspite of changing the ID and password to the one provided to me and rebooting the router it still changes back to the same!! :wall::madness:Help a damsel in distress!! How do i get the router to save the changes permanently??

Welcome to Broadbandforum.in.
Option 1: Presume you are not using a "Dialer " ( "bridged" )as per your report.
After entering your UserId without @ bsnl .in and PW in the WAN page, click SAVE/Reboot.
Wait for at least two to three minutes for the mode settings to be reset.
REFerence : Select your modem.
BSNL BROADBAND MAIN MENU

Even i faced the same problem... All i did was reset the modem to factory settings and configured the WAN again.. After doing this my net is working well but occasionally i have to switch off the modem and switch it back on....But my night downloads are not that stable they work for an hour or so and the internet gets disconnected

Did it improve??? My browsing seems to be fine. Only my night downloads are screwed up..I have to check every 30 min if im connected or not.

@reddyprabhAre you using schedulers/Download managers for night usage ?Even if there is a small voltage fluctuation somemodems fail and you have to restart. ( even with UPS. )When this happens does your IP change ?

I'm using the inbuilt utorrent scheduler which switches itself at 2 and finishes at 8... Not using any other scheduler. Do u think thats the problem??Which ip should i check for??? The one in the modem router page???How do you manage your torrents without using schedulers???
