@tr1k0N4 I just received the XZ000-G3 v2 and I copied the 16 digit GPON serial as you suggested (5A544547 and rest from GPON serial) and I cloned the MAC address of the ZTE F660 on my router’s WAN address. Even got o5 state on the XZ000-G3 v2 but internet is still not working. The IP address is allocated from 100.xx range on the router but for some reason internet does not work.

In my F660, there is GPON password field filled do you think I need that one also?

I didn't need to do anything about the GPON password.
Also, your router getting an IP address points to the fact that you've also used the correct VLAN.
Then what could be going wrong, I wonder 🤔

What's your router BTW? Can you also share some screenshots?

@tr1k0N4 Here are the details:

Existing ONU from NetPlus (AS133661):
Model and hardware revision: ZTE F660 v7.1
Current software version: V7.1.10P2N8

My Primary router that connects to ZTE F660: Asus RT-AC68P/U B1
Current Software version: FreshTomato 2022.5

New ONU: TP-Link XZ000-G3 v2 (EU):
Firmware version: 3.1.4 build 220216 Rel. 7936n

Here is what I am getting on TP-Link XZ000-G3 v2 after:
  • Cloning GPON SN on the TP-Link
  • Cloning the WAN Mac of ZTE F660 v7.1 and using it on Asus RT-AC68's as WAN MAC (double checked from the back of ONU and from Web UI)

On my Asus RT-AC68P/U B1 I am getting IP address from 100.x range with same IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway (and even same DNS) as my ZTE F660 v7.1 from NetPlus.

Here is ping test to 8.8.8.8:

k bin % ping 8.8.8.8

Any help would be great. I just can't figure out why internet is not working after replacing ZTE F660. Everything seems to be correct. Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, it is same. There are multiple MAC addresses listed. First one I don't know about (it belongs to Taicang T&W Electronics), second one is the MAC address I gave to customer care (it's of my phone for NetPlus Roaming feature). The third one is the ZTE F660's MAC address. It matches with the WAN mac from Status -> Network Interface -> WAN Connection -> [WAN MAC] value and it is the same on the back of ZTE F660.

I know sometimes NetPlus uses different WAN Mac when they install ONU because previously I had Nokia ONU from NetPlus but the WAN Mac was different when the installation guy was talking to NOC guys. Later I checked from self care portal of NetPlus and indeed that was different (different 3rd Mac from profile section). But in ZTE F660 case, MAC is exactly the same.

I have one question, if the XZ000-G3 is in o5 state that means the connection from ONU <=> OLT is working as expected right? or there can still be something wrong even after o5 state?

Well, atleast the MAC address is there.
Also, cases of fake O5 have also been observed by a few users.
But that you are getting the IP address point to the fact that you have authentication and WAN is also fine.
By any chance, is DHCP disabled on your router?

No, DHCP server is enabled on the LAN side. Also IP address from WAN are set using DHCP mode. I also tried cloning the WAN MAC on my Linux machine and connecting the machine directly to XZ000-G3 v2 and it got the address from 100.xx range but internet was not working on that also.

I will try putting ZTE F660 directly into bridge mode somehow to see if internet works by connecting my router to it. Will get back to you with my findings. Also, there is a firmware update available officially from TP-Link, will update XZ000-G3 and see if it changes anything.

For sure brdr, please let us know if that changes anything.
My G3 v1 was also giving the low speed issue on Airtel Xstream. I then updated the firmware to the Brazillian one released in 2024 and it works perfectly now!
