BSNL disconnecting frequently

Nope bro, none so far.. before that, every hour i was getting disconnected. But the good thing that came out of that was FUP got reset. :tongue: need to find the trick with this modem router soon too..
So has the modem/router really improved the stats? While setting this thing up, even my dead phone came alive.. Should i ask the BSNL folks now to just increase my downstream data since everything looks good?
 
Your line still has scope for improvement. I'm not sure how it'd behave with a 4096 sync. Expect the SNR to fall to around 12-16dB. You could still try though.
 
Yes, downstream SNR might fall by about 12 dB (or more) if data rate is doubled. I have a feeling that something is wrong with your line. Get it checked/changed once.
 
I just talked to the JE of Panchkula, BSNL. The guy sounded drunk.. I said I wanted to register a broadband complaint. The guy said, "Theeke sir, bhej denge" (Hung up). I called again asked him if i can talk to some technician regarding the line.. "Theek hai sir, bhej denge"
Seriously?
I doubt if they will do anything. Or send their regular lineman.

Wait so should i not increase my downstream data?
I dont mind 2mbps line for 20gb. I mean i eat that within first week itself.. And being on 512 for the rest of the month, I'd rather take a vacation. 4mbps would be fine as long as limit resets. Also i pay for 4mbps right and its been 3 years on this plan. Dunno if i should just give up.

In their language, this translates to: "Fuck off". Fetch contact numbers of senior officers from the BSNL site. Don't waste your time with this scum.
 
So finally PRO (dunno what that is, designation?) of BSNL called. Took me ~15min to explain him.. but he finally got it. He said the line is ok and he will ask the local exchange to upgrade my downstream data yadda yadda yadda.. I asked if tomorrow being first day of the month is it possible, he said yes. Lets see.
Life would have been much much easier if i lived in HYD.

So finally a 20-25yr old guy showed up from BSNL. So i was like finally BSNL is doing something.. only to realize he just came to check my bandwidth, performed speedtest :lol: and went saying ki "Aaj afternoon tak speed upgrade ho jayegi."
I waited and got a call from Grievance officer(PRO) 0172-[color=rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Times New Roman';font-size:medium;]2645811 and a lady was on the phone. I told her the speed hasn't upgraded yet. She said, "Aapki 2mbps speed aa rahi hai na, itni speed bahot hoti hai." [/color] :iconrofl:

lol :D you gotta get atleast 3.2mbps... Just tell her "agar aapne downstream rate change nahi kiya toh mein TRAI ko complain karunga kyunki 80% speed toh milni chahiye." Worst thing is that even after changing the line rate you won't get the promised speeds :angry: Last mnth i complained tele exchange that i was only getting 3mbps(Downstream rate was set at 4096kbps but i wanted them to increase it to 5mbps coz then i'd get exact 4mbps speed) and they said the same thing in kannada..... you only get 3mbps in that plan :angry::angry:
