bsnl disconnection

hi guys... i want to disconnect my both broadband and landline. I'm not going to use them from next month onwards. how can i disconnect it. my friend once not paying the bill for the month then his connection is disconnected. And i heard that they wont give back the deposit amount that i paid when getting connection. Anyone help me-- what is the best way to disconnect. Is it true that they disconnect if not paying bill. Another thing is will they force me to pay that bill later...

Give an application at your local exchange. Ask them to discontinue the connection. Not paying the bills is not a good idea. What if you need to take the connection some months later ? Then you won't be able to continue the connection.

By not paying the bill, the name of the connection owner will be recorded in bsnl's defaulter's list and the defaulter may not be able to get any service from bsnl. Also in future the telecom companies may think to share their defaulter's list which may lead to further problem.So contact your local exchange with an application. They may ask to clear the bill till date.

If you don't need a landline telephone and BB connection, give an application for disconnection. If modem on rent surrender it and get a receipt in your application copy.
Any arrears to be paid will be sent to you in Next month's bill.
Now there is a scheme for SAFE Custody" of telephones.Charges have been reduced.
and for BB connection, you are advised to change to the lowest
tariff plan Bb125 .
This way you retain the telephone number and BB ID pW etc.
