Bsnl FTTH (Bharat Fiber) local infrastructure of fiber cable from outside poles to inside home installtion with pics.

My LCO ISP is using a combination of his own poles as well as the electric poles for the fiber lines.
Runs on EPON.
ISP: Limras Eronet Broadband.
Location: Chennai.
Plan: 150 Mbps 1200GB at 1179 (including GST).
ONU: DBC Technologies 1GE EPON (paid 1500 for ONU+Installation).
Router: TP-Link Archer AC1200 (Main) and TP-Link Archer C20 AC750 (AP).

ONU and Router.

Using it for almost 2 months, so far so good. No fiber cuts as of now but had 2 downtimes of an hour each due to some PPPoE authentication error.
However sometimes during the peak hours connection slows down a bit but other than that there is no issues.
The one little annoying thing is that I cannot renew the package online though there is a portal for checking data usage and complaints.
There is an option to do so but it is not enabled.
Overall experience is better than I expected considering the delays I faced during the installation.

My bsnl ftth installation was good. But that maybe depended on my LCO.

----------adding images due to popular demand--------

This is my 'server corner'. Fiber to the white splitter box to ont. The router, pi and ups were added by me.

Installtion team hadn't use wall clips and proper installtion of termination box on wall? Installtion lot bit messy and incomplete.

Also are these installtion guys from bsnl FTTH or other isps capable enough to install fiber cables inside the electric duct pipes in walls ?

No wall clips. Actually it never occoured to me. I was too exited with getting the high speed :)

If its a single box, they might if you ask nicely. Complex wiring like electric, well that might be asking too much. But credit to my LCO where its due. He did pull the wire from post to the front right side of my house, then run along the entire front under the sunshade, then along an ac vent, all as per my spec, so as not to be visible. It resulted in double the fiber cable used, drilling a door frame etc to get all this into a wardrobe room where its all hidden. To be honest I'm very happy with their installation. The 'mess' is probably my doing.

@vignesh_venkatesan, used scotch tape (double sided) to mount? I was using the same before.:) Its sturdy.

@eriek_halenx Yes, it is very sturdy.
Even my LCO didn't care about the length of the wire used and did spend quite a bit extra in order to bring in the cable the way I wanted him to do.
The only thing I was pissed about them was the delays and fake promises of installation but once they came in for installation, they did really well.
After all this, I learned that they were postponing the installation due to the fact that they had to bring cable from the Main road as the signal in the cable from nearby pole was not adequate.

I have recently installed BSNL FTTH directly from BSNL. (No TIP involved).
Well I had to take much efforts convincing the BSNL officer for installation at my place. It almost took me 6-7 months or may be more for convincing them to install at my place. In that period I tried complaining at twitter, consumer forum etc. I actually had DSL connection earlier and it was not at all running properly. So I started visiting the broadband officer's cabin every 3-4 days and use to tell him either repair my DSL connection or provide me with FTTH. That officer was good though. He told the estimated repair cost to repair the underground telephone cable till my home is 10 Lakhs around. So I told him to tell the FTTH officer to provide me with FTTH connection. This I did almost 4-5 times in the last month and then finally he convinced the FTTH officer to pull cable near my home. And the irritating thing here is they only had to pull the cable from 300 metres. Because there was already an FTTH connection. But for that also they were not willing to do it. So finally before a month they pulled the cable. The cable is overhead.
Then after the cable was brought till my place I was told to go to commercial officer for creating a demand order. The officer gave me a choice for number selection. Then I was told to pay security deposit at the counter. And then after 3 days of payment the FTTH officer bought the ONT and installed it and provided me with ID and Password and the internet started. I have applied for TYPE A ONT.
I was provided Alphion AONT 100 C.

I get approx 52 to 60 Mbps download speed and 58 to 70 Mbps upload speed. Ping is between 20-30ms

I have installed TP-Link archer C6 gigabyte router. On wifi I get approx 30-35 Mbps (2.4Ghz) and 52 to 60 Mbps (5Ghz).

I have installed LAN cable of D-Link (CAT 6) from router to my room. Length is approx 45 Metres. It costed me 21 or 22 Per metre (I dont remember the exact rate). There was a cheaper option available for 12 per metre.

Charges incurred:-
Security deposit:- 849 had to pay after the cable installation for starting the connection.
Router:- 2500 Rs (Offline purchase)
LAN cable:- Approx 1000 Rs
Adapter for running the ONT:- 100Rs (I was told to purchase the adapter, it wasnt provided with ONT)

Then in first bill I was taken the following charges:-
Voice activation charges:- 250
ONT Security deposit:- 500

And the rent for TYPE A ont is not being charged by bsnl if you are new customer. I was informed about this by @varkey :) in Has BSNL stopped charging rent for ONT? | BSNL FTTH Bharat Fiber Broadband this thread.

My congrats @Rahul Kalani . But i couldn't help thinking... I thought underground cables are supposed to be long lasting and less susceptible. And costing 10L of tax payers money to repair... Someone should investigate the root cause of why it failed... And nail the culprit to be held accountable for any carelessness or corruption...

Sorry for the rant... :)

@eriek_halenx Actually the cable has gone bad from a distance of almost 2 Kms. And according to him the cable is very old. (Copper cable). And now in my city everywhere the municipality have constructed cement roads. So may be the total cost of finding the fault repairing this is about 10 L. Or may be he was talking of repairing the cable of the whole area where I live. Because every landline and adsl user in my neighbourhood has same issue. Or may be he just exaggerated the amount. I didnt question him coz who knows he might have gotten angry and wouldnt have proceeded further for contacting the FTTH officer. :D. This BSNL people are unpredictable so I just nodded my head. And as they say in hindi "Unhe sir pe chadha ke rakhna padta hai" :D to get the work done

@Rahul Kalani My home is around 150mts away from exchange. And they still couldn't provide the connection instead asked to contact lco. It took one year for the LCO in my location to pull up the fibre. 😒
But finally happy about the connection. I need to bridge my connection this month, cuz the Netlink modem isn't reliable in every nook and corner of the house, planning to go with c6 same as you.😊
