Bsnl FTTH (Bharat Fiber) local infrastructure of fiber cable from outside poles to inside home installtion with pics.

@SG_curiosity
1. 30-35 Mbps on 2.4Ghz WiFi of TP-link archer C6 gigabyte router? Why speed is so less on 2.4Ghz WiFi of this gigabit router? It should atleast 45-55 Mbps on 2.4Ghz WiFi if you are around 8-10 ft away from the router without any wall.
How far were you from router? Try again with 10 to 12 feet distance. And also which devices are you using?

I dont know but I have even contacted TP-Link support and they told that you will get less speed in 2.4Ghz. And also in many forums and Amazon and flipkart reviews I have read that you get around half the speed on 2.4Ghz of that you get in 5Ghz.. I have also tried on MI Router but same results and also on D-Link wifi stick by creating hotspot via windows but same 30-35 Mbps.

2. First security deposit of Rs849 only was as a plan security. Right?
And one another Rs849 + 18%Gst = Rs1002 (can be adjusted according to number of days used since the day of activation of new connection till first month bill generated), you also had to paid as normal monthly usage charge of plan in your first bill? Right!

Yeah the charges were also charged proportionately. I did not mention them because they were regular billing charges and not installation charges.

3. Isn't Rs 250 a one time installation charge? Where you see "voice activation charges" mentioned?
In bsnl website there is only Rs250 installation charge mentioned.

Yes 250 are one time installation charges and that was charged only once in my first bill.

4. So now, new first time customers in any state would never have to pay Rs90 for non-WiFi ONT monthly rental charges or it is only a limit period offer (6 months maximum)? Any information?
No idea brother, If its for 6 months or more. I guess its for longer duration but not sure. But in my Bill they are not charging it.

5. Can you please share the pic of your bsnl ftth first bill?
(Hide all private details like name, phone number, account number and address).

Yes pic attached in this reply.

6. Can you share some pics of bsnl ftth cable coming from outside to complete inside? I want to see how bsnl guys do Installtion compared to private player like Jio and have they used plastic wall clips or not etc.
[/QUOTE]

No there installation is not like private players. They just have dropped the wire from terrace to my home thats it. No clips nothing.
Pics attached.

How big and ugly looking Junction box they are using in customer's homes! Can't they use any small junction boxes like JioFiber's junction box!
rMF93Rh.webp

This box looks good. But had no option

(I) @Rahul Kalani How much long that thin yellow fiber wire (coming out from black junction box) can bsnl provide to new customers free?
The person who did the installation bought a wire packet similar to this. https://www.amazon.in/Generic-SuperShopperIndia-Simplex-Single-Optical/dp/B01LZL990T/ref=sr_1_1?crid=33NRYG6GQCK46&keywords=ftth+cable&qid=1578501316&sprefix=ftth+cab,aps,290&sr=8-1
He cut the wire in two and installed one of the part in this box.

(II) Can they installed this big black junction box outside the home or on the pole and then take the yellow cable directly from outside pole box to inside Router?

I dont think so, because the wire is delicate if it breaks you will have to call them again with the splicing machine. And they wont come easily.

Q1. Can anybody provide the latest updated information about the full selling Price of different types of FTTH Modems/ ONTs (WiFi-ONTs & Non-WiFi ONTs) along with their Model Numbers & Brand names, decided by BSNL department for selling to their FTTH broadband customers at time of providing connection?
(Only one bsnl customer care agent told me that the price of WiFi ONT is Rs3250 but he haven't other information like it's model number and brand name. Bsnl customer care is actually sucks. They never help for ftth queries and always says to visit exchange of all information).

If you are getting a connection from TIP you will be provided ONT from the TIP. They generally charge around 3500 for this including installation. And if you are getting it directly from BSNL then you have to pay rent. For non wifi 90Rs pm and for wifi 200 Rs pm. As of now they are not charging rent for non wifi ont. And if you want to purchase this ont's then they cost bomb. :p. Dont even think of purchasing this from BSNL. 12000 for non wifi and 14500 for wifi. Broadband Internet Service on FTTH

Q2. Also anybody have updated information regarding the One Time Security Deposit and Monthly Rental Charge for WiFi-ONTs and Non-WiFi ONTs decided by BSNL department?
(On bsnl website, monthly rental charge of non-WiFi ONT is Rs90 and WiFi ONT is Rs200. But i am not sure if it is a updated information or not, specially for Rs200).

If you are getting connection from TIP then the ONT will be yours. No deposit for ONT. But if you are getting connection from BSNL directly then 500 is securtity deposit. And yeah thats the correct rent. 90 and 200.

Q3. Also any information regarding the BSNL FTTH Refund Policy related to these Monthly Rental Charge for FTTH ONT?
Actually i want to know, How much percent of total sum of deposited rental amount which is paid by a customer in every month bill as ONT's monthly rental charge would be refundable after disconnection of FTTH service?

If you are being charged rental charges then none of the amount is refundable. They are purely rent charges. No refund on this amount.

Yz. My Archer c6 router was giving about 55 mbps in speed test @2.4 GHz. (about 10 feet dist). Is the mimo option checked?

Yeah Mimo is checked. Dont know but it gives me this much speed only. 849 Rs plan.

And honestly I dont use much wifi coz I mostly use the 1.5 Gb data on mobile. On that I get good speed. 35 Mbps to 60 and sometimes even 70 :D. Operator:- Airtel

@Rahul Kalani Thanks for your reply.

1. When you had submitted the official request form for ftth service in bsnl exchange and when Bsnl technician came to your house for installation?

2. Please share ping test of CloudPing.info . Share the 3rd time test.

3. Try and share the speedtest again on different servers of speedtest.net (specially test on spectra net Mumbai server) and also test on fast.com on 2.4Ghz WiFi.
If possible than try on different device.

4. Is bsnl ftth IPTV (Live TV) Service available in your city? Any information about plans and STB?
(On bsnl website there is mentioned about FTTH IPTV Service but not much information available on website).

5. Are you fully satisfied with bsnl ftth service? Any downtime?

1. When you had submitted the official request form for ftth service in bsnl exchange and when Bsnl technician came to your house for installation?

I had submitted the form in Jan 2019 😂, then 2nd application in march or april 2019. And all this while I was trying to convince them to install the ftth at my place. It took me around 6-7 months to convince them (after numerous complaints) and finally in november they pulled the cable at my place. And then I gave them a fresh application with all the information because they couldnt find my old applications. 😅

2. Please share ping test of CloudPing.info . Share the 3rd time test.

Nopes. They dont have manpower to supply FTTH. IPTV is not even feasible. First atleast they should provide the FTTH connections to customers.

5. Are you fully satisfied with bsnl ftth service? Any downtime?

Yes I am genuinely satisfied. The plans are better than JIO. And in my city there's only BSNL FTTH and JIO at some places. Downtime yes twice for 3-4 hours but it was for all the customers coz of some server issue.

@Rahul Kalani Thanks for your reply. Few queries still left.

1. Please provide the date of last application submitted in exchange office after ftth wire available in your area and date when installation finally happened in your house.

2. You haven't replied on point no. 3.

Try and share the speedtest again on different servers of speedtest.net (specially test on spectra net Mumbai server) and also test on fast.com on 2.4Ghz WiFi.
Also, try speedtest on different mobile and also try on your laptop by wifi.

I have recently installed BSNL FTTH directly from BSNL. (No TIP involved).
Well I had to take much efforts convincing the BSNL officer for installation at my place. It almost took me 6-7 months or may be more for convincing them to install at my place. In that period I tried complaining at twitter, cons
What's your broadband plan?
