its nothing that technical that it needs a Service Engineer Type installer.
however companies selling it on heavy premium might have that white collar carpenter to install it and justify the price.
for a very skeptical person, get a similar looking Latching Lock available in near-by store and have him experiement
and then follow same procedure with the electronic one, and that local lock should be returnable or if not would damage not more than Rs.500/- at most.
Its similar locking mechanism but controlled electronically, everything is covered in it, only parts you need to install is same like the ones in normal key type locks, but seems its launched as premium Luxury in Indian market.

yeah. i had a talk with the guy who is making doors. he said that he has installed a couple of electrical locks. i cannot make up my mind about which model to go for... i want the one with a handle which is quite expensive. and the basic model is still quite expensive for an experiment...
