There are now routers availabe in India that allow you to share your 3G or EVDO modem.A company out of Mumbai sells them called EK Wireless. I got one, a Hame HM433R portable unit and it rocks. Paid Rs 5499 for it. Certainly worth the money because its saved us a few times when the cable internet has gone down.

Hi Guys ,

This should help you.
There is a free software called connectify , google it , which helps you share your internet connection.
It , unlike the mess ad hoc connection , provides a regular wlan wireless connection.

The software is new and has some glitches in it.
Another thing is that it works only on Windows 7 - which by the way is a very worthy product.

Mac users - have the internet sharing facility , in their OS.

Regards

Activate your wifi card in desktop / laptop
Connect to internet through EVDO
Go to network and sharing center > manage networks
Add a new WEP network and name it as mynetwork
set a 5 char long password
Click next and it will give you an option to share the internet conenction
Activate it and you are ready to go....

is this works?
