Carrier Aggregation on Airtel 4G LTE

Aircel has 10Mhz in 1800Mhz but stuck in insolvency issues + 17.6 MHz for auction in TN.

This was the reply from vodafone when I enquired about latching to idea 4G.i tried latching to Idea 4G by inserting my vodafone SIM in different phone which doesn't supports 2100Mhz.

WoW! Even Idea has 4x4 Mimo on Band 3 but Airtel still didn't upgrade.

Here Airtel is using 2x4 on band 3 for some reason. Don't know why they are not using 4x4

My friend uses Vodafone Sim on Idea's 4G network in Redmi 4A which doesn't supports Band 1.

Sadly,.i am porting my primary number from Airtel to Jio because three months ago Airtel done some modifications to the nearest tower after that i am getting only -100 to -110dbm signal earlier it was -90dbm in band 40. Speeds also dropped to 3Mbps in peak hours.

Jio built a new tower in my area and it is the nearest tower to my house than Airtel. And i am getting -80dbm in band 40 inside my house. Also it has fiber backhaul.

Today night my number is getting ported to Jio from Airtel.

Here Airtel is using 2x4 on band 3 for some reason. Don't know why they are not using 4x4

thats strange.As device only activates 4 antenas when it detects 4 antenas from Site.Here i think site is not optimised so phone detected it as 4 tx and thus switched 4 antenas(rx) from its end but site actually had 2 antenas on b3 so you are getting 2×4.

Yeah that means Site doesn't have 4 Antennas but ur Device supports 4 Antennas it's Just opposite to how 4x2 works

Today night my number is getting ported to Jio from Airtel.

Even I recently ported out from Idea to Jio coz at my home Idea's signal strength is -114 dB it gives 5 - 7 Mbps but it keeps on switching between 4G and 2G!

On jio I get 4x2 for band 40 and 4x4 for band 3

@Nitin which phone do u have? Maybe it only supports 4x4 Mimo on B3.
