Airtel is fine..so far so good. It'll be 1 month old on Tues so experience is limited. Tata Sky will be only for backup purposes. I use an Asus AC3200 which has dual WAN capability.

@Chip what locality are you in and what plan you have opted?

Also, is airtel providing direct connection or via LCO vendor? I mean are they giving option of 1 gbps plan in your location?

@vishalrao yes they are giving 1 Gbps I have opted for 200 Mbps for 3 months at this time. May opt for 300 Mbps if I am satisfied with the connection. I am not sure if this is direct or LCO. How does one make out who is the provider? I stay in eastern Pune near Bund Garden.

I noticed the OP @C3PO is presumably a customer of Tata Sky BB since mid 2019. Any feedback on its performance please? Thanks.

I guess if 1 gbps plan is available then it's direct airtel and not via lco. Also direct plans are cheaper than lco plans for the same speed. Plus if you pay 3 monthly advance rental plan ARP then they waive off installation charges which lco don't offer.

Both Tata Sky and you bb have gotten lots of negative feedback but I guess it's ok if you want it as a backup.

@vishalrao thanks for the inputs. Yes, now I remember. The person who came for the KYC and formalities was wearing a shirt with the Airtel logo and had an Airtel ID card. So I guess it's not via an LCO. My primary connection will be Airtel 200 Mbps and Tata Sky, may be a 100 Mbps plan as backup. And yes they waived off installation charges since I took the 3 month plan.

@messyhanibal you have to use their CPE. I am not sure if they permit after market models. Best to call their helpline to reconfirm either way. I opted for a dumb Nokia ONT a small cigarette pack size model after the Nokia 2425 they initially provided was found to be locked down by firmware and can't be switched to bridge mode. You lose your VOIP line but that's not an issue for me.
