That's mainly because of the rupee getting hammered. Lots of electronics would now be cheaper in India. Xperia Z is selling for the equivalent of 33243 on Amazon. Its available for 31500 on flipkart (even cheaper on ebay)

that was my thought too. it is surprising that phone and tablet prices have not increased much. a friend of mine who sells high end home theater systems said that his suppliers were out of stock as the prices were set to go up massively because of stronger dollar.
