I feel bad abt myself bcoz, I should have demanded a written statement from them abt refundable deposit. :(

Since I do not have any evidence, what can I do. Abused him and came.
I had also gave Rs. 650 to my cable operator but he was clear to me that its not refundable. But that was my fate i did not have any other alternatives, i need to go with them:wall:. Now i have disconnected the cable line but no refund:wall: as i cant claim as they told me earlier itself that its not refundable

ON SUNDAYS I FIND NOBODY....hum....office time...hummm
Its weekend and also i dont have a pc at my home other wise i have would been there on weekends too to be with you guys:thumbsup:

DTH operators are also not saints.If you observe the recent poll results on state-wise DTH subscribers in our forum, you will find max coming from TN and MS where organised cable operators are there.

@vgpalYou are correct on your statement but for me SCV cable is the worst and more over many cable operators donot oblige us. Atleast in DTH we are getting better service than them and i accept its bit costlier too but the quality is there in both TS & Dish TV:thumbsup:. You cant comapre DTH with local cable operator. I am using DTH & staying in chennai, i could have gone with CAS but again what reputation they have as their servicing part is worst if i come across any problem with STB with my cable operator of SCV. I dont think they will be good enough to the customers in their servicing part. @nazeerI am also coming from a middle class family i dont have money at this point of time to go even for second hand pc but i will buy in another 6 months time. I live on my own and i am married and there is no one for me too (except my wife) to support me yar if any crisis happens to me.

In way Chennai is better than Bangalore and other metros. Hathway distributes thro' local cable operators in my layout. He asked me to pay Rs. 1500/- initially which includes the first month subscription charges and he clearly said he can't payback Rs. 1,250/- whenever I cancel the connection. When I cancelled my connection he ofcourse didn't pay anything. He said in a way I'm better because they were charging about Rs. 2, 500/- for new connections three years back. He says they had incurred expenses in laying cables all along our layout and maintainence on cable and hardware takes a major chunck of their revenue. The new regulations in non-cas areas again going to make a dent in their revenue stream, I think.

I cant compare chennai cable with bangalore or hyderabad as i never used it. But i accept that Hathway chennai are professional people as some my friends are using it. If i was with hathway cables in chennai i wud have definetly gone with hathway cas model.:thumbsup: but still there are some problems in local cable whether we are in CAS or non CAS i.e., if any wire gets damaged or any switch off the booster and then we suffer a lot and in DTH these problems are not there as if we electricity in our we can with tv any time:thumbsup:

@ajuravi007
Hathway is somewhat better. Star has 22.2% stake in Hathway.

STAR - STAR Ventures

Hathway supplied the STB for digital cable at Rs 1500 in Hyderabad (though not a CAS area), last year. Now they are supplying it less than that amt.
