I understand that my friend but in cricket when there are 7 odis played between the even when the 1st 4 matches are won by 1 team still they finish the other 3 matches my friend..........and thats the reason i asked that question and that clearing my doubt..............

yes i was pointing at words which were actually intended to clear any such doubt. weird they still came.oh btw in tennis is 5 set game, but they dont play if one wins 3 sets!

heh in cricket they usually play all the five games in a series even if the team has won 3... advertising revenues and ticket sales... some of the reasons for the useless matches.play for pride as they call it.

yes and esp if one of the team is India, then its either, so India gets a consolation win or give consolation win.India never lets clean sweep happen (its own or other teams)

History was made yesterday but till now i am surprised that till now no one has posted any messages on this thread regarding - Anand retaining the World Chess Championships...............Kudos and congradulations to Vishwanathan Anand..............:thumb::dance:

I was in touch with Anand matches, but I didnt login from abt 4-5 days. So didnt post anything.3 Anand wins may be partly due to Kramnik's mistakes but Anand showed is superiority in 9th game where Kramnik went all out against him and Anand amazingly defended his game and came out with a draw.Almost all commentators praised Anand for coming out with precise moves in a game where most thought Anand wud lose, looking at mid game.Probably that was the game, Kramnik regained his form but Anand halted him very well.

Good to see you back:thumb:............One thing i noted in NDTV after his win one of the person who was a guest in the sports show told in ndtv that Anand is more popular than Tendulkar:thumb:.............this he told because Tendulkar is known by only few countries where as the chess game is keenly followed in most of the countries across the globe and thats the reason he told in NDTv Anand is more popular in the world than tendulkar........one more key thing about this WC is that the prize is aroubd 2.3 million euros i believe but the interesting thing is that the prize money is shared equally between the two.........why they are doing like this amish???????????

they are being paid for appearance. not for performance. they are more like guests not like players. if u have guests in house, u (morally) treat all same.in chess they both are almost at same level. in boxing too, player is awarded a fixed amt, win or loss doesnt matter.its like movies. movie goes hit or flop but actor is still paid the amt decided.chess is more like rich ppl's game, everything is rich. lots of arrangements are made just for the room where they play.lots of facilities provided.
