I have looked whether the thread was existing, but couldn't find one.On tuesday there was an article on Hindu regarding the new regulations by TRAI for DTH platforms in the op-ed page.Under this regulation all broadcasters will have to make their channels individually available to any platform if they request for it.The price has to be within 1.5 times its price on any other platform. Also it said that customers should be made able to choose & pay for the channels which they want rather than this packages circus. This is very cruical in India because of the big regional divide. So in essence on December 1 we will get the freedom:thumbsup:Oh crap, the thread was in the bottom of the page.Sorry mods, feel free to delete:ashamed:

Its time v can hope to come very fast..very fast.. Till then will hav to stick with this and pay these idiots some more money.. Crap Tata Sky

Any chance of this regulation being challenged on court and getting further delayed?

I am not sure if as per the TRAI recommendations, the customers will be able to pick and the choose the channels they are interested in, instead of being forced to take the bouquets. It is the DTH providers who get the privilege to pick the channels from the broadcasters.

I am reffering to the hindu article.I think they were proposing to give the rights to customers as in CAS.If it happens then it would be ace.We can choose which regional channels we want & don't have to pay for the hindi news channels & vice versa for the north people.

nothing will happen.. TRAI or TDSAT all they can do is just pass ruling, they dont see if it is implemented properly or not..
