Upgrade your processor to an i5, add one more 2 GB RAM and you will see a big diff in gaming.

Manu said, Intel would be a better option so, I asked which Intel processor along with a compatible motherboard would be good, an i5 respectively and if it does exceed the budget of the entire system then by how much?

i5 3470 - 11.7kASRock Z77 Pro 3 - 7kbut the thing is Intel is introducing the Haswell line up in June, and AFAIK, it is going to be a different architecture so you lose upgradeability. So if you can wait till June. Also I just checked the benchmarks, and the 8 core AMD FX 8350 seems to come very close to this processor in terms of performance (Intel is slightly better for gaming, AMD is better for things like Video Editing, Lightroom etc.) it costs ~12k as well. So you can consider that as well.

if you are not going to upgrade for 3-4 years, then it is not going to make any difference. buy this one.
