do i have problem with modem?

bsnl broadband
hello friends i am using bsnl broadband. my connection with broadband gets jammed after 10 or 15 seconds and thn automatically reconnects after same period of time. my modem no is UT-300R2U. the USB light on the madem stops blinking and only remains on when it gets jammed. thinking tht problem must be with usb port i tried ethernet. but same problem. bsnl tech support taking time to solve and its urgent for me. would be pleased if someone can help me. thankskripal
 
what you mean by jammed ? no connection ? or getting restarted ? lights going off and coming back during that time ? didnt understand exactly !If your modem restarts, then check your telephone line for noise ! If the line is noisy, then chance of getting restarted/disconnected often ! If you were saying something else, please elaborate.

Step 1 :
Check your set up from the Telephone Exchange provided Junction Box
TFline ===.>>> LINe ADSL Splitter --ADSL PORT===RJ11==>>>modem
--------------------------Phone Port ==RJ11===>>> All phones including cordless base.
If not possible disconnect all phones and try.
or use separate ADSL Splitter for each phone.
Step 2 : Do not connect USB and Rj45 to same computer for testing.
Q1:How many phones you use ?
Q2: Internet was working any time earlier ?
Q3: Start RUN type cmd Type ipconfig/all . Post details here.
Q4 by @viralbug : Post ADSL status page showing SNR/Attn/Mod and line speed.

by jammed i meant tht it doesnt get disconnected. the status symbol on the lower right corner remains there. it happens for some seconds and it starts working again without reconnecting.

the lights on the connection symbol in our screen near the clock goes off during tht time and in few seconds again starts blinking. In modem all lights remains as it is. only USB light in the modem stops blinking, but it doesnt go off, instead it remains countinuously on for few seconds and then again starts blinking when reconnected.

i have checked telephone line. and it is working nicely without any noice.
could it be problem with modem?

post your router stats here. could be a line problem.

i dont know if such software is available. please let me know.

I faced similar problems when I used to connect using USB, try connecting with Ethernet.That fixed the problem for me. :thumbsup:

i have checked almost everything, alls ok.
i am using only one phone and one adsl.
i have been using internet for last two years for the first time i have encountered this problem.


i got stats on run cmd but dont knw how to paste here.

or we only have to connect ethernet cable.
i have also tried ethernet but same problem is there. though i have not changed any setting

no.simply connect modem through ethernet & remove the USB connection of modem to computer.
 
just connect the cable to the ethernet port.. and you should be good to go.. if it still doesnt work.. go to the command prompt and type ipconfig and post output here..it could be because you arent getting an ip address.
