Download speed for UL 900, 256kbps?

Hi everyone. I recently installed bsnl broadband on my computer. I have taken the UL 900 plan. Can anyone here who already has that plan tell me the usual download speed you get while using the specified plan?I mean the download speed you generally get so that I know I am getting the usual speed or not.

Its approx 25-30 KBps.

yes that's what even i get between 28-32.i have a simple plan to calculate the download speed if you're thinking, at what speed will i download if i buy a connection.lets say you purchase a 256kpbs plan. divide 256 by 8. they result you get will be the speed at which you will be downloading.eg256/8 = 32 (256 kbps)512/8 = 64 (512 kbps)1000/8 = 125 (1 mbps)

Welcome to this forum.
I too have that plan you are now subscribing.
Generally Bandwidthis calculated in bits (b) and download or upload speed is calculated in Bytes (B) . So very simple calculation to know what should you get.
1 Byte = 8 bits . Your bandwidth is 256 Kbps means your download speed will be more or less 32 KBps

This topic has been discussed a lot of times. So search before creating a new thread from next time.

it would be nice if you have mentioned your upload/download speed aswell.. anyways, i get a speed almost equal or above 512kbps... ie, 50-75kBps at any time.. !!

I get anywhere between 20-32 KB/s.but consider the new offer from bsnl home combo plan i.e 500 rs. for both phone and BB and 1.5 GB limit, and 2am to 8 am free usage. and most importantly you will get speed upto 256 KB/s. isn't that great :yahoo:
