Hello,I'm from Trichy, Tamil Nadu... And I'm on Hathway's unlimited plan...Whenever i download any file or torrent, the maximum speed i get is only 30kbps... Even after using download accelerators like DAP, FlashGet, the maximum speed that i am getting is only 30kbps...Now, don't tell me that the problem is because of Hathway.. Because, i had BSNL Home UL plan before this and same 30kbps was my max there...So, the problem is with my network settings... Please help me...Thanks,Shrihari.S

Please mention the plan used and the promised speeds under the same....
Also mention the modem used... OS.... Whether using ROUTER PPPOE or RAS PPPOE...... Antiviruses ...firewalls..... download speeds on utorrent if used... speed test results on Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

Plan used is 512 Intro pack says the "installation report"... But i suppose the speed promised is 256kbps...Modem is "Scientific Atlanta" made...OS is Windows XPHow do i find "Whether using ROUTER PPPOE or RAS PPPOE"I use AVG AntiVirus and just Windows' default Firewall...Speed on utorrent is also 30kbps maximum for any torrent...SpeedTest.net reports 285kbps DL and 121kbps UL

256Kbps plan with speedtests showing 285Kbps....now which server?
Mumbai.... post a screenshot with the Newyork / sydney servers....
Also clock your downloads at the www.microsoft.com website.
Now your downloads will be around the 32KByte/sec as under 256Kbps thats the correct speed. If you get 32KB/sec @ microsoft then you dont have much to complain... just trouble your ISP and plead with them to raise ur bandwidth a lil bit more so you can get atleast 32KB/sec @ from most servers...:cool2:

Arrey blu-blu wat has cable to do with this case?:P

With Sydney, i get 136kbps DL and 116kbps ULI get 30kbps for most downloads... But my point is why don't i get 200kbps ??On BSNL Home 250 256kbps Plan, one of my friends got above 200kbps using DAP... But, even with using DAP i get only 30kbps... :(

256 Kbps = ~32 KBps512 Kbps = ~64 KBpsIf you're using 256 Kbps plan and you are getting 30 KBps, then everything is correct. I don't see any problem.

But, as i said "On BSNL Home 250 256kbps Plan, one of my friends got above 200kbps using DAP... But, even with using DAP i get only 30kbps...".... :(
