Hello Everyone, I am having a big probelm in dsl
I have teracom model modem and from last three day my dsl is not very stable it's been frequently dropping and my line is having cross connenctions and and I am not being able to resolve my problem. I have also maked the complaints in broadband but i am not getting reply. pls try to give the root cause of problem.I will be grateful.

1. May be a temporary error at BSNL. Check with your neighbours whether they are also facing the same problem. 2. Post your SNR and attenuation values. Do you hear a hissing sound while using telephone ?3. Reset the modem and try reconfigure it.

Dear Friend Monu Ali,

DSL is not stable in your Modem - may have chance of the following conditions. Pls check one by one

1. Poor Line Condition - Observe whether in your Telephone Line any noise sound is ther or not.
If it is pls complaint in your BSNL exchange complaint desk number (Dial 198)
and tell am having heavy noise in line so my DSL signal is not stable.

2. Wrong connection of your Line Splitter Box to Modem ADSL Line In pot.
Pls make sure your incoming Line from Exchange is connected to your Splitter Line Port
then from Splitter Modem Port to DSL port in Modem (not FSX port)
then from Splitter Phone Port to Telephone Instrument.

3. If any Parallel Telephone Line is connected before Line Splitter also will reduce DSL Signal Strength

If your DSL is stable you can check your DSL strength in modem configuration Page by loging In to the following page

http: // 192. 168. 1. 1.
as user name: admin
as pass word: admin

in first summery page itself in advanced view note the parameters

SNR (Downstream) (minimum recommended 13db)

If it is blank means your DSL signal is not yet catches properly by your modem.

hey Guys, Like I said i am having cross connection in my line well today it's running excellent but i think i have line problem and i need to resolve but these lineman they don't care about the problem
but which one is root cause of fluctuating dsl
but thanks for your reply guys this means a lot
thanks once again anoopkjyan and meetdilip:imwink:

Happy to be of some use. :)Ask the line man to fix the line. Tell him to remove joints and non insulated parts.

Cross connection in lines is a problem generated by low insulation and humidity in the cable. May be your underground pair needs replacement or a cable joint needs repair. Get your line condition checked.
