these dth companies would have to start selling smart cards first along with the converter device... i dont see that happening till supreme court drops in to say: hello, fix it or i would come and kick some ass.

Other DTH operators are using MPEG4 technology and hence no point in using MPEG2 STBs. Customer will HAVE TO buy new STBs.
